By Kevin Pasquale: Ahh, how the world of boxing can create magical storylines, indefatigable heroes, epic matchups, and misleading hype. To this last comment, I give you Pacquiao-Cotto. When watching HBO’s entertaining “24/7” the other night, starring Floyd “I’m Filthy Rich” Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez, I thought about Marquez’s last battle with Manny Pacquiao, in March of last year. I scored that fight eight rounds to four, in favor of the counter-punching Marquez, even though he hit the canvas in that fight.

Philip H. Anselmo Plays The Pick ‘Em Game 2009
By Philip H. Anselmo: What will be the deciding factor in the upcoming Vitali Klitschko— Cristobal Arreola bout? Klitschko’s advanced age and supposed slower reflexes, or Arreola’s weight issues and lack of top-10 experience? That’s easy; Arreola’s glaring deficiencies. Look for Chris to show lots of heart, while for the most part Vitali negates any of his offensive bursts by tying up on the inside and controlling the fight with the jab from the outside. If Arreola plans to bum-rush Vitali early, it won’t work. We’ll see how carrying 250+ pounds around fairs for Arreola through 5 rounds, and from then on, it’ll be all Vitali.

By Eric Thomas: Yesterday, at the New York press conference at Yankee stadium with Manny Pacquiao and World Boxing Association welterweight champion, Pacquiao couldn’t help throwing a few digs at Cotto, saying “He’s strong and can punch, but he’s not that fast.“ The two fighters are on a five city press tour to try and promote their November 14th fight at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

HBO’s Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 to Air in October – News
By Manuel Perez: It looks like HBO will be starting another series of 24/7 boxing episodes, this one involving Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto. The series will be called Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 rather than perhaps the more appropriate Cotto-Pacquiao 24/7. The series will start on October 24th, and then run weekly – e.g., November 7th, November 13th – until a day before the bout on the November 14th.
Will the Roach-Pacquiao working relationship be the same as it was before?
By Eric Thomas: With Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach complaining in the past weeks about not being able to speak to Pacquiao on the phone and being blocked from contacting him, you have to wonder whether the relationship will be the same once Roach and Pacquiao begin working together again.
The Key to Victory: Cotto Needs to Rough Pacquiao Up
By Manuel Perez: If Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KO’s) wants to beat Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KO’s) on November 14th, he’s going to have to make a point to rough Pacquiao up early and often and make it tough for the smaller fighter. Pacquiao will come in at pretty much the same weight as Cotto at the weigh-in, but by the time the fight takes place, you can expect that Cotto will have a 10 to 15 pound weight advantage over Pacquiao.
Did Khan duck Pacquiao?
By William Mackay: It seems that World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) turned down a golden opportunity to fight Manny Pacquiao, according to The Telegraph. Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, said that the fight was offered to Khan, but that his family opted not to let Khan take the fight. It didn’t say whether Khan resisted their wishes or not and tried to take the fight anyway.
Khan will Beat Pacquiao
By Manuel Perez: Mark my words, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) will not only beat Manny Pacquiao when they eventually meet up, but he will knock him out in the process. Yesterday, I showed the boxing world part of the sparring sessions – – between Khan and Pacquiao, the ones that it’s been rumored where dominated by Khan.
