Roach calls Mayweather’s racist tirade a “Cheap low blow”

Image: Roach calls Mayweather's racist tirade a "Cheap low blow"By Dan Ambrose: Trainer Fredidie Roach had his own thoughts about Floyd Mayweather’s recent racist video he put on out Ustream, saying in an article at gmanews.tv, “It’s really a cheap low blow, but again, consider where it came from. We tried to fight him. He said no. He doesn’t want to fight.” Roach is getting his fighter Manny Pacquiao ready to take on Antonio Margarito for the vacant World Boxing Council junior middleweight title at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. The Margarito-Pacquiao fight will take place at a 151 pound catch weight, so that Pacquiao have a slight advantage against the bigger Margarito.

Is Pacquiao starting to look a little flabby?

By Dave Lahr: I’ve been looking at some of the recent video and photos of Manny Pacquiao as he troops around the country trying to promote his November 13th fight with Antonio Margarito, and I can’t help noticing that Pacquiao is starting to look a little flabby around his midsection and face. I’ve never seen Pacquiao overweight before and this has me a little concerned. I know he wants to put on a little bit of weight so he can bulk up to around 151 for his catch weight fight with Margarito for the vacant World Boxing Council junior middleweight title, but Pacquiao is looking like he’s putting on the wrong kind of weight. I’m not sure if he’s eating too much balut or too much bread, but he needs to step away from the table because I’m seeing the beginnings of a spare tire around Pacquiao’s gut.

Mayweather already apologized to Pacquiao, so people need to shut their yaps

Image: Mayweather already apologized to Pacquiao, so people need to shut their yapsBy Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather already apologized to Manny Pacquiao for the comments he made on his Ustream video. It’s time that these people let it go, forgive and leave Mayweather alone. Mayweather said “I do want to apologize for the other night. A lot of people were saying I made racist comments but anybody that knows me knows that I don’t have a racist bone in my body. I have nothing but love in my heart. Anybody affected by what I said apologize as a man. I was just having fun. I didn’t mean it.” There it is. It’s time to move on and forget about this. Mayweather apologized already. People need to quit dragging this into the ground.

Ariza thinks Pacquiao’s smaller size will be an advantage for him against Margarito

Image: Ariza thinks Pacquiao's smaller size will be an advantage for him against MargaritoBy Dave Lahr: Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza believes that Manny Pacquiao, who he just happens to work for, will have an advantage against two-time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito because of his smaller size on November 13th. In an article by Ronnie Nathanielsz at Inquirer.net, Ariza, speaking about the advantages of being smaller, said “An advantage because to fight a small guy, you have to make yourself small. It’s no secret that Margarito doesn’t move his feet, he doesn’t move well, he doesn’t move side to side and a smaller guy can create more problems than fighting a guy your own size who is there in front of you all the time.”

Pacquiao calls Mayweather’s racist tirade “An uneducated message”

Image: Pacquiao calls Mayweather's racist tirade "An uneducated message"By Jason Kim: Rather than responding with anger to Floyd Mayweather’s vicious racist UStream video, Manny Pacquiao has decided to take the high road, saying in an article by Dan Rafael of ESPN, “I just heard about that, but I didn’t see the video. But it’s an uneducated message. I’m not looking for that fight. I’m satisfied with what I’ve done in boxing already.” Mayweather might have shot himself in the foot with his video, because it failed to impress boxing fans and even sickened many of Mayweather’s own fans.

Roach thinks Mayweather just wants to protect his unbeaten record

Image: Roach thinks Mayweather just wants to protect his unbeaten recordBy Dave Lahr: Freddie Roach is unhappy that Floyd Mayweather Jr. won’t fight his guy Manny Pacquiao, and Roach is at a loss to try and figure out why he doesn’t want to fight Manny. In an article at Northjersey.com, Roach says this about Mayweather: “I think Mayweather wants to have that zero on his record so he can argue that he’s the best fighter of all time.” That’s one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is to see things through Mayweather’s eyes. He had concerns about Pacquiao possibly using performance enhancing drugs and tried to get him to agree to the random blood testing that he wanted. Pacquiao couldn’t or wouldn’t agree to what Mayweather wanted, and so they went their separate ways.

Is Andre Berto worthy of fighting Mayweather or Pacquiao?

By Marquise Bullock: When people think of Andre Berto (26-0 20kos) they think young, inexperience champion. But when I think Andre Berto, I think young, hungry champion, with enough heart, and skill to compete with the two top pound for pound fighters in the world today. Sure he’s inexperienced at the higher levels, but when Floyd Mayweather (41-0- 25kos) took on Genaro Hernandez for the World Boxing Council Super Featherweight title, he was inexperienced also.
