Pacquiao-Margarito: Conditioning could be a problem for Pacquiao

By Jason Kim: Manny Pacquiao is going to be taking on bigger fighter in Antonio Margarito on November 13th at a 150 pound catch weight for the vacant World Boxing Council junior middleweight title. Thus far, Pacquiao has fought at welterweight previously but not against a big welterweight like Margarito. Pacquiao has taken on Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey, none of which are really big welterweights. It’s hard to count the Clottey fight because the guy wasn’t throwing any punches and just looked like was playing the part of a sparring partner.

By William Mackay: World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) is reportedly going to be flying over to the Philippines to train with Manny Pacquiao and their mutual trainer Freddie Roach so that Khan can help Pacquiao get ready for his November 13th fight against Antonio Margarito, while at the same time get ready himself for his December 11th bout against knockout artist Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Should Pacquiao do random blood testing for his fight with Antonio Margarito?

By Marquise Bullock: Okay, we all know random blood testing isn’t required for the November 13th fight, but should Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) go through with it just to make a point against his opponent Antonio Margarito? Pacquiao is sitting on the boxing thrown right now and he could demand anything from the Mexican slugger, just as you’ve seen with the unforgiving catch weight of 150 pounds. Antonio Margarito is a proven cheater, whether he likes it or not, but sadly some boxing fans believe the same about Pacquiao. So should Pacquiao take blood testing all of the way up to the fight to prove a point.

Pacquiao losing weight instead of gaining it for Margarito

By Eric Thomas: Manny Pacquiao is taking on Antonio Margarito at a catch weight of 151 pounds for their fight on November 13th, at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington. One worrisome problem is that Pacquiao, with six weeks of training still ahead of him, is losing weight instead of gaining it according to Roy Lucera at Inquier.net, Pacquiao is losing weight and is down to 147. If he keeps losing weight, he could find himself below 140 and that would put Pacquiao at a huge disadvantage against the bigger 5’11” Margarito.

Margarito needs to rough up Pacquiao

Image: Margarito needs to rough up PacquiaoBy Dave Lahr: I’m kind of wondering how many knockdowns and much of a beating it will require before Antonio Margarito is given a decision against Manny Pacquiao in their fight on November 13th. I don’t think Margarito is going to need a decision to win the fight, mind you, because I’m confident he’s going to beat Pacquiao to a pulp.

Roach wants to keep Pacquiao from taking punishment from Margarito

Image: Roach wants to keep Pacquiao from taking punishment from MargaritoBy Dave Lahr: Trainer Freddie Roach is trying to keep Manny Pacquiao from running into so many head shots while training for Pacquiao’s November 13th bout against Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. It’s looking like Roach is going to try and have Pacquiao use a hit and run style to keep him from getting hammered so badly by Margarito. In an article at Gmanews.tv, Roach gave Pacquiao a lot of directions during his sparring session with Glen Tapia, saying “Don’t stay in front of him because he will hit you. Don’t take two punches in order to land three. Move, move away.”

Would it be good for boxing if Margarito knocks Pacquiao out cold?

Image: Would it be good for boxing if Margarito knocks Pacquiao out cold?By Dave Lahr: I think it would be an excellent thing if Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) gets his head taken off in November against Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO’s) at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. I think it would be a good thing for boxing to see Pacquiao stretched out on the canvas, wondering what hit him. The good thing would be the great fights it would open up between Margarito and Miguel Cotto, and Margarito and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Margarito wouldn’t even blink if Mayweather asked him to agree to random blood testing. Margarito would gladly accept the blood testing without complaints and we’d have a major fight to get excited about instead of seeing Margarito fighting guys Joshua Clottey.

Pacquiao blew his chance at fighting Mayweather

Image: Pacquiao blew his chance at fighting MayweatherBy Chris Williams: Fans of Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) may cry and complain that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) refuses to fight Pacquiao, but you need to stop and realize that Pacquiao and Bob Arum blew their chance to fight Mayweather when they wouldn’t agree with what Mayweather wanted with the random blood testing. Pacquiao had the perfect opportunity to fight Mayweather during their negotiations in January of this year when Mayweather asked for the drug testing to be stopped at 14 days before the fight. Pacquiao wouldn’t agree to anything closer than 24 days. That’s where ended. Who’s fault was it that the fight didn’t get put together? Pacquiao should have groveled and been submissive to Floyd.

Margarito says “I am stronger than him” [Pacquiao]

Image: Margarito says “I am stronger than him” [Pacquiao]By Dave Lahr: Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO’s) likes his chances against the smaller Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) on November 13th, in their fight at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Pacquiao and Margarito will be battling down the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) junior middleweight belt without either of them having much if any experience at that weight.
