Brook: I’ll find a way to beat Golovkin

YouTube video

By Scott Gilfoid: Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) says he always finds a way to win and that Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) has never been inside the ring with anyone with the kind of talent that he possesses. Well, we’re going to find out whether that’s so next month on September 10 when the two fighters face each other at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Right off hand, the 30-year-old Brook, whose claim to fame was clinching his way to a narrow 12 round decision over Shawn Porter is seen as totally deluded in think he can beat or even compete with Golovkin.

Berto and Roach talk Golovkin vs. Brook

Image: Berto and Roach talk Golovkin vs. Brook

By Scott Gilfoid: Kell Brook isn’t getting a lot of boxers, trainers or boxing fans giving him much chance to beat Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in their fight next month. Trainer Freddie Roach and former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto are the latest people that have come out and chimed in with their opinions about Brook being up against it in this fight. Berto at least thinks Brook has a chance of maybe doing something against GGG.

Berto isn’t quite sure. He seems Brook as being ultra-confident about being able to beat the hard hitting Triple G, but he’s not sure if that’s fake confidence or not. For his part, Roach just thinks that Golovkin is going to blow through Brook like he’s not even there.
Golovkin and Brook will be fighting on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Hopkins tears into Golovkin for criticizing Canelo

golovkin8

By Dan Ambrose: Bernard Hopkins of Golden Boy Promotions thinks IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) is a hypocrite for criticizing Golden Boy fighter Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the past for him fighting Amir Khan in their fight last May on HBO pay-per-view.

Golovkin thought it wasn’t a good fight for boxing due to Canelo fighting a much smaller fighter than himself in Khan, who had already shown that he had problems taking shots from lightweights, light welterweights and welterweights. Hopkins thinks Golovkin is a hypocrite because he’s now fighting welterweight Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) on September 10 next month. Hopkins sees the Golovkin vs. Brook fight as the same thing as Canelo vs. Khan.

Gennady Golovkin will defend his world middleweight titles against Kell Brook on September 10th at London’s O2 Arena.

The first Elephant in the room for this up and coming clash is the difference in size. Golovkin holds 3 middle weight championship belts, and is the king of the 160 pound division.

Adam Booth talks Golovkin vs. Brook

Image: Adam Booth talks Golovkin vs. Brook

By Allan Fox: Trainer Adam Booth figures that welterweight Kell Brook is going to be really up against it on September 10 in his fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, because of his ability to pressure, cut off the ring, throw with major power, and counter punch.

Booth sees counter-punching pressure fighters as being the most difficult fighters to face, because they force you to fight and then counter punch you. Booth says that Brook doesn’t have enough punching power to really trouble Triple G, because he’s used to being hit by bigger, stronger punchers than Brook during his career.

Eubank Jr. ready to fight Golovkin now

eubank9144

By Scott Gilfoid: #2 WBA, #2 WBC middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) took to social media on Thursday to call out unbeaten IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) for a fight. The 26-year-old Eubank Jr. says he’ll take the belts off of Golovkin once he gets down with his scheduled September 10 fight against unbeaten welterweight Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs).

Eubank Jr. thinks the Golovkin vs. Brook fight is a joke due to Golovkin facing a welterweight rather than someone from his own weight class. Eubank Jr. had been quiet recently, but he likely chose to speak up after Golovkin called him a “clown’ in a recent interview this week.

Guerrero: Golovkin is fighting the little guy

guerrero (3)

By Patrick McHugh: Welterweight contender Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero thinks it’s funny that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) is fighting a welterweight in Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) in his next fight after Golovkin had expressed disappointment in the past at former WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez fighting welterweight Amir Khan last May. Guerrero thinks that Golovkin is doing the exact same thing that Canelo did by fighting a welterweight. Guerrero says that boxing fans want to see Golovkin fight Canelo, and that’s the fight that should be happening.

What Guerrero fails to say is that Golovkin isn’t the one that is dragging his feet to keep the fight from taking place. Golovkin is ready to fight Canelo as soon as possible, but he’s being met with road blocks that are keeping the fight from taking place. Canelo’s promoters at Golden Boy Promotions aren’t interested in making the Golovkin fight until fall of 2017, and even then, it’s not a given that the two will face each other.

Golovkin wants to make it a war against Brook

golovkin78

(Photo credit: Lawrence Lustig, Matchroom Boxing) By Patrick McHugh: Unbeaten British fighter Kell Brook (36-0 25 KOs) had better be biting down hard on his gum-shield on September 10, because his opponent IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) is promising a real “drama show” when the two of them get inside the ring.

When Golovkin talks about his fights being a “drama” show,” he means that he’s going to go out and look to obliterate his opponents with heavy power shots to the head and body. He’s got the fighting style that he calls “The Mexican style” in which he likes to slug it out with his opponents.

Khan: If I was Brook, I would focus on GGG

khan836

By Scott Gilfoid: Amir Khan said today that fellow countryman Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) needs to focus on the task at hand in in his upcoming fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, England. Khan said, “If I was you I’d focus on GGG #wewantyoutowin 😉” This was a response on Khan’s part to a comment made by Brook earlier in the day in which he compared Khan to the Kardashians.

Khan recently changed his mind about not wanting to fight Brook. This change of opinion about the fight after all this time struck Brook has funny for some reason. Just why is unknown.

The main reason that Khan had little interest in fighting Brook for many years was because he wasn’t fighting the best guys. He was being matched against fighters like Frankie Gavin, Jo Jo Dan, and Matthew Hatton instead of the world class guys.

Brook: “I am going to use everything I have got in me for this fight”

BOXING

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) says he’ll be using every possible thing he can do for him to get the ‘W’ in his scheduled title shot next month against the middleweight division’s premier knockout artist Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

While this may seem like not a big deal to some boxing fans that Brook is willing to use any means necessary to get the victory over the Kazakhstan fighter, it is a big deal for me.
