Crawford willing to fight Lomachenko at 137

By Chris Williams: For the right kind of money, Terence Crawford would be willing to move down three pounds to fight super featherweight Vasyl Lomachenko at 137 pounds, according to his trainer Brian McIntyre. The money would have to be good though. Both fighters are promoted by Top Rank, so there wouldn’t be a problem making the fight if there were interest from Lomachenko’s side.

Top Rank boss Bob Arum has spoken of matching Lomachenko and Crawford up against each other. Lomachenko will likely get a shot at Manny Pacquiao in 2017. Crawford is in a tough situation if he can’t get someone like Lomachenko. It doesn’t look like Crawford will ever fight Pacquiao. Crawford can probably forget about fights against Al Haymon fighters like Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia, Errol Spence Jr. or Keith Thurman.

Crawford: I’ll make a statement against Molina Jr.

Image: Crawford: I’ll make a statement against Molina Jr.

By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) says he’s going to make a statement this Saturday night in defending his two titles against 33-year-old John Molina Jr. (29-6, 23 KOs) in their fight on HBO Championship Boxing from the CenturyLink Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

Crawford says he’s going to make the same kind of statement against Molina Jr. that he did in his last fight against Viktor Postol last July. Crawford beat Postol by a 12 round unanimous decision after knocking him down twice in the 5th. The final judges’ scores were 118-107, 117-108 and 118-107. That was boring fight to watch for me, and for a lot of boxing fans.

Terence Crawford vs. John Molina Jr. this Saturday

crawford93

By Allan Fox: John Molina Jr. (29-6, 23 KOs) has his work cut out for him this Saturday night when he challenges undefeated WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) for his two titles plus his Ring title on HBO Championship Boxing on December 10 at the CenturyLink Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

This is going to be a tough match for the 33-year-old Molina Jr., because he’s had a lot of bad luck inside the ring in the last four years in losing five out of his last ten fights. It’s unknown why the sanctioning bodies are still ranking Molina Jr. so highly given all of his many defeats.

Crawford vs. Molina: Terence needs to impress

crawford93

By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) will be defending his two titles in less than two weeks against contender John Molina (29-6, 23 KOs) on HBO Boxing at the CenturyLink Center, in Omaha, Nebraska. It’s really important that the 29-year-old Crawford look good in this fight, because he did not entertain in his last fight in beating WBC 140lb champion Viktor Postol by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores 118-107, 118-107 and 118-107 last July at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While Crawford won the fight by a lopsided decision, he seemed to play it safe in the last four rounds in choosing to box rather than looking to put the 5’11” Postol away by looking for a knockout. Crawford did what he had to do for him to get the victory, but he didn’t put in the type of performance that you would want to see from someone who is trying to become a superstar.

Crawford vs. Molina: John expects big things on Dec.10

crawford

By Allan Fox: #2 WBO, #3 WBC light welterweight contender John Molina (29-6, 23 KOs) believes he’s going to have some surprises for WBC/WBO 140lb champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) in their fight on HBO Boxing on December 10 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Molina feels he’s a different fighter compared to Crawford’s last opponent Viktor Postol, who lost to him by a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision last July on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Postol didn’t fight aggressively enough in coming at Crawford with jabs and 1-2 combinations.

Terence Crawford wants ALL 140lb titles before moving to 147

1-crawford (1)

By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) will be making a simple defense of his titles against John Molina (29-6, 21 KOs) on December 10 on HBO Boxing. The fans weren’t too pleased with this selection of the 33-year-old Molina as Crawford’s next opponent, because some of them want to see him move up to welterweight to take on the tougher guys like Keith Thurman, Kell Brook, Manny Pacquiao.

Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Errol Spence Jr. However, Crawford says he’s NOT going to be moving up in weight to the 147lb division until he captures all four of the 140lb titles in the light welterweight division. Needless to say, it might take Crawford some time before he accomplishes that goal.

Terence Crawford vs. John Molina Jr. on December 10

John Molina Jr

By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) will reportedly be defending his titles against #3 WBC, #3 WBO contender John Molina Jr. (29-6, 23 KOs) on December 10 on HBO Championship Boxing from Crawford’s hometown at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The fight isn’t official yet, but that’s the fight that is being mentioned. Overall, I expect the fans to greet the news of the Crawford-Molina fight favorably. Molina sometimes makes things excited, but definitely not all the time. When Molina is bad, he’s REAL bad. He’s one of those fighters that you never know what you’re going to get from him effort-wise.

Molina, 33, isn’t the greatest of options for Crawford to fight. After all, Molina did lose easily to Adrien Broner las year in a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision defeat in March of 2015. Broner beat Molina by the scores of 120-108, 120-108 and 118-110.

Molina: Kell Brook will upset Triple G

Image: Molina: Kell Brook will upset Triple G

By Scott Gilfoid: Light welterweight contender John Molina is predicting a victory for unbeaten Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) in his title fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) on September 10. Molina, 33, thinks Brook is a special talent and will be able to come out with the victory in this fight.

Molina sees Brook and his management as having selected Golovkin not for the money, but because they feel they can beat him. Molina believes Brook will go out and defeat the 34-year-old Golovkin next month in their fight on HBO pay-per-view and Sky Box Office pay-per-view at the O2 Arena in London, England.
