By Allen Fox: James Toney (73-6-3, 44 KO’s) will be taking off 50+ pounds to get down to 200 lbs to face Russian cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (22-1, 17 KO’s) on November 5th in Lebedev’s home country of Russia. Toney, 43, will be fighting the younger 32-year-old Lebedev at the Khodynka Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia.

By Jason Kim: Cruiserweight contender Denis Lebedev (22-1, 17 KO’s) is starting to make a name for himself fighting guys in their 40s. First it was 42-year-old Roy Jones Jr., who Lebedev stopped in the 10th round in his last fight last May. Lebedev shockingly was staggered by Jones in that fight shortly before stopping him with a series of big shots.

By William Mackay: You really have to question the wisdom of the matchmaking made for British and Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury’s next fight on September 17th in Ireland. Coming off an impressive victory over Dereck Chisora last July where Fury gained a lot notoriety worldwide, the thing to do would be at least to keep the momentum going by taking on an opponent that at minimum is well known if not dangerous.

By Jim Dower: In a battle of old timers, 42-year-old former three division world champion James Toney (73-6-3, 44 KO’s) defeated 39-year-old journeyman Damon Reed (45-15, 32 KO’s) by a lopsided 10 round unanimous decision at the San Manuel Indian Casino, San Bernardino, California. Before this fight, Toney hadn’t fought since way back in September 2009.
