Golovkin stops Brook whenever he wants, says Robert G

golovkin-brook

By Scott Gilfoid: It’s painfully obvious that IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook is going to be a huge underdog on September 10 when he gets inside the ring with IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Brook is giving away weight, power and height to the bigger, stronger Golovkin.

Trainer Robert Garcia sees this fight lasting only as long as Golovkin wants it to. Garcia thinks the whole match-up is a big joke, because he rates Golovkin as the clear No.1 middleweight in the division going against someone that isn’t even the third best welterweight.

Kell Brook: I’m a beast at 160lbs

brook6663

By Scott Gilfoid: Welterweight Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) says that his natural weight is 160 pounds, and that when he’s in training camp at that weight before draining down to 147 for welterweights, he’s a lot stronger at that weight. Brook feels that by the time he gets down to 147, he’s not as strong because he can’t eat and it takes a lot out of him to make the weight.

With Brook now signed to fight IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) on September 10 at the full weight of 160 pounds for the middleweight division, Brook can now eat and keep his weight at 160.

Brook will still be giving away weight against the 170+ pound Golovkin if he keeps his weight at 160 throughout the entire training camp.

Joshua talks Golovkin vs. Brook fight

1-golovkin (4)

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua thinks that weight could play an important part in the September 10 fight between IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Kell Brook at the O2 Arena in London, UK. While Brook is going to be fighting in front of his own loyal British fans, he’s going to be giving away weight to the naturally bigger, stronger and dare I say more talented Triple G.

Joshua thinks the weight could be a factor in this fight because of Brook being a welterweight and needing to come up two divisions to fight Golovkin. It isn’t just weight though that will hamper Brook.

Rios: Brook is never going to win against Golovkin

Rios_BD7F2024

By Dan Ambrose: Former WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios is giving welterweight Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) no chance at all in beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in their fight on September 10.

Rios thinks that Golovkin is too much of a beast for Brook to have a chance at beating him. Rios sees the fight being won on size along due to Brook moving up from the welterweight division to take on Golovkin. Rios thinks the size and power difference between the two of them will be too much for Brook to overcome.

Sanchez says Golovkin-Brook different from Canelo-Khan

sanchez77

By Dan Ambrose: Gennady Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez sees there being no comparison to his fighter Triple G fighting a welterweight in Kell Brook and what Saul Canelo Alvarez did in beating up on former lightweight Amir Khan on May 7 of this year. Golovkin has been taking a lot of heat from the boxing world for choosing to fight IBF 147lb belt holder Brook rather than fighting one of the arguably more deserving top contenders in the 160lb division or at the very least fighting a top junior middleweight like Erislandy Lara.

Sanchez argues that Brook is a solid welterweight and not someone that was knocked out in the 1st round by lightweight Breidis Prescott in their fight eight years ago.

Khan moved up in weight from lightweight to light welterweight and ended up suffering defeats at the hands of Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia. Khan then moved up in weight to welterweight, where he was matched carefully until he choose to move up to 155 and face Canelo for his WBC middleweight crown.

Golovkin talks Canelo and Brook

1-golovkin (6)

By Eric Baldwin: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) says he respects his next opponent welterweight Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) for their fight on September 10, and he sees him as not an easy fight for him. Golovkin says that the 30-year-old Brook is a big guy, and he sees him as bigger and stronger than Amir Khan, who recently was stopped in the 6th round by middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Golovkin says he’s ready to fight Canelo at any time, but he doesn’t think he’s serious with his creation of a new weight category at 155lbs. Golovkin says that Canelo doesn’t respect boxing with the way he’s come up with a different weight class for his fights.

Marquez: Golovkin is a tough fight for Brook

golovkin4

By Scott Gilfoid: Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez sees Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) as having a tough time with IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) in their fight on September 10. Marquez thinks that Golovkin’s superior size and punching power will make it hard for Brook to endure 12 rounds against him. Marquez notes that Brook has an elusive style of fighting, but he’s not sure that he’ll be able to handle the power from Golovkin.

Brook, 30, will be moving up in weight from the welterweight division to take on Golovkin at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Brook won’t have it as bad compared to a true welterweight, because he’s really more of a junior middleweight that melts down to fight lighter guys at welterweight.

Having a weight advantage against the welterweights has helped Brook find success in his career. In the case of the Golovkin fight, the junior middleweight-sized Brook will need to move up in weight one division to take him on.

It’s going to be very tough on Brook, because even if he was in the same weight class as Golovkin, he would still not have the same punching power or boxing skills as him.

Brook: I’ll show Eubank Jr. how to deal with GGG

brook4

By Eric Baldwin: Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) was in the mood to kick sand in the face of Chris Eubank Jr. on Sunday in giving him grief for failing to close the deal to take the fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) for September.

Brook says he’ll show Eubank Jr. how to do the job on GGG. Brook says he doubts that Eubank Jr. ever truly wanted to fight Golovkin. In other words, he was just messing around by calling out Triple G so that he could get attention from the fans and the media. Eubank Jr. certainly did get a great deal of attention from the boxing world.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get the fight that would have made him a great deal of money. Eubank Jr’s own promoter Eddie Hearn says he would have made between $4 million to $6.5 million for the fight with GGG. That’s a lot of money.

Bellew: Don’t write Brook off against Golovkin

bellew8

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew, who claims to be the best fighter in the division, says we shouldn’t write off IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) in his upcoming fight on September 10 against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Bellew believes that Brook will be strong at 160, and he thinks either guy can win.

“Do not write him off,” said Bellew about Brook to bbc.com. “Kell Brook at 11 stone [154] will be an absolute wrecking machine. “A lot of people are scared of Golovkin’s power but Brook’s stepped up. These are two men who can land big punches and it can end at any time.”

Eubank Jr. still hopeful for Golovkin fight

eubank12

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. doesn’t seem to be too happy about IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) agreeing to fight Eubank Jr’s fellow countryman Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Eubank Jr. claims that Golovkin won’t be respected by anyone in the UK or elsewhere.

Golovkin offered the fight to Eubank Jr. but he didn’t agree to the contract, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, who says that the Eubanks wanted operational control of the fight. By not agreeing to fight Golovkin, Eubank Jr. misses out on the biggest payday of his career that could made him millions.
