Golovkin focused on Jacobs, not Canelo
By Allan Fox: This Saturday night, middleweight knockout artist Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) needs a victory over Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) to reserve a spot for a big money fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in September. Even if Canelo and his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions decide that they’re willing to take the fight at that time, a victory for Golovkin over Jacobs still means a lot.
Golovkin says Canelo-Chavez Jr. at a catch-weight is “bad for boxing”
By Dan Ambrose: Gennady “GGG” Golovkin is not in favor of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs) at a catch-weight of 164 ½ pounds for their fight on May 6 on HBO PPV. Golovkin says that fights should be taking place in the traditional weight divisions at junior middleweight, middleweight and super middleweight rather than at a catch0-weight like we’re seeing with the Canelo-Chavez Jr.
Jacobs won’t beat Golovkin says Lemieux
By Jeff Aranow: Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) is a highly talented fighter with explosive punching power, but he won’t beat IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) this Saturday night in their fight, says former IBF 160lb. champion David Lemieux. He does not see Jacobs being able to do the job on the powerful Golovkin.

Lemieux wants Canelo before Golovkin rematch
By Dan Ambrose: David Lemieux (37-3, 33 KOs) showed that he still has enormous power last Saturday night in taking out Curtis Stevens (29-6, 21 KOs) in 3 rounds, and he’s now interested in facing Saul “Canelo” Alvarez before a rematch against Gennady Golovkin. Lemieux might have a difficult time getting the fight against Canelo in 2017, because he’s already scheduled to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on May 6.

Golovkin vs. Jacobs: Can Daniel handle Gennady’s power?
By Jeff Aranow: 7 days from now, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin 36-0, 33 KOs) and Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) will be trading bombs on March 18 on HBO PPV at Madison Square Garden in New York. These are two of the biggest punchers in the middleweight division. Jacobs is seen as the underdog in the fight largely because of his shaky chin that has let him down in the past in his loss to Dmitri Pirog seven years ago.
Canelo must box Golovkin says Richardson
By Dan Ambrose: Trainer Naazim Richardson thinks that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has the punching power and the boxing skills to give middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin a great deal of problems when the two of them encounter each other in the future. Richardson suggests that the Golden Boy Promotions star Canelo should use his boxing skills to fight Golovkin rather than standing and trading with him. He feels this is the best way for him to deal with Golovkin.
Golovkin vs. Jacobs: 8 days away

The hype for fight has been tremendous, as the boxing public really wants to see this match-up.
