The Point of Mayweather’s Comeback

mayweather45623849By Calvin Betton: It’s going to happen, we all know it is, but what nobody knows for definite is who Floyd Mayweather is going to fight when it does happen.

Let me first put forward my opinions on Floyd Mayweather Jnr. He is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most skilled and complete boxers ever to walk the planet. He has speed, reflexes, power, stamina, defence and an unbreakable mental toughness.

Hatton Plans On Retirement After Pacquiao, Marquez & Mayweather Bouts

hat666638By Chris Williams: You got to admire Ricky Hatton (45-1, 32 KOs) for his confidence, because with a tough fight coming up on May 2nd at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Hatton is already planning on his next moves after the Pacquiao fighting, hoping to fight Juan Manuel Marquez next later in 2009, and then finish up his career against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2010. It seems as if Hatton is living in denial more than a little, because I can’t see a fight against either Marquez or Mayweather Jr. happening if Hatton can’t even beat Pacquiao.

Is Mayweather In Danger of Losing His Skills If He Stays Out Much Longer?

mayweather45623830By Chris Williams: It’s now approaching a year and a half since Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25 KOs) last stepped in the ring and at present it doesn’t look as if he’s going to be getting back into boxing anytime soon from the sounds of it. At 32, Mayweather may be pressing his luck by not getting back before it’s too late. Most smaller fighters like him are usually past their prime by their 30s, and though he’s a special case, the time off is most certainly not helping him stay sharp.

Freddie Roach on Possible Pacquiao-Mayweather Showdown

roach63223By Sam Gregory: Floyd Mayweather coming out of retirement is major boxing news even though Floyd himself has never made such a claim. The BBC managed to catch up with Mayweather at his pre-Super Bowl party in Ybor City, Fla. Saturday night before the big game. Despite bombarding Floyd with as many questions in as many ways as possibly to ask the same question, the answer remained the same; Floyd has no intention to step out of retirement now or anytime in the foreseeable future to fight Ricky Hatton or anyone for that matter.

What’s Next For Mosley?

shane433355By Manuel Perez: New WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) must feel like a little kid in a big candy store since winning the title from Antonio Margarito with an upset 9th round TKO on Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. With the decks stacked against him, the small 5’9″ Mosley pulled off the upset by using his natural advantage in hand speed along with a strategy which included a lot of clinching to defeat Margarito.

Mayweather Jr. vs. Mosley Coming Up? Don’t Bet On It!

shane6745574By Eric Thomas: After Shane Mosley pulled off a huge upset by stopping WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito in the 9th round on Saturday night, it’s suddenly re-energized Mosley’s career and brought him some much needed popularity that has been missing from his career for the past six years or so since he was first defeated by Vernon Forrest. The natural assumption is to want to pair him up with the now retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a mega bout that would make both fighters millions of dollars.
