By William Mackay: If Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25 KO’s) is somehow able to do what no other fighter has done before to Juan Manuel Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KO’s) by knocking him out on September 19th, Floyd would be making a huge statement to the boxing community.

Mayweather Wasting Time Focusing on Pacquiao
By Eric Thomas: Floyd Mayweather Jr. seems to be worrying about everything but his September 19th opponent Juan Manuel Marquez. In a conference call yesterday, Mayweather, 32, played down Manny Pacquiao’s wins over Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya for some reason. It’s as if Mayweather needs to downgrade Pacquiao’s wins against them to somehow feel validated as a fighter. It’s quite bizarre and such a waste of time. This is what Mayweather had to say about Pacquiao’s victory over De La Hoya:
Is Marquez being overlooked by Mayweather?
By William Mackay: As the September 19th fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather gets closer and closer, it appears that Mayweather, 32, is looking past Marquez towards a potential fight against Manny Pacquiao. It seems as if Mayweather is making a huge error in assuming that he’s going to get past Marquez, because this is the same fighter that many people felt beat Pacquiao twice.
Will Mayweather Retire if He Loses to Marquez?
By William Mackay: Next month, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25 KO’s) will be fighting one of his biggest bouts of his career when he fights Juan Manuel Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. For Mayweather, he has a lot riding on the line for this fight. He’s 32, which is getting up there in age for small fighter like him, and hasn’t been active for the past two years due to an ill conceived retirement.
Is Marquez Not Getting the Training He needs to Beat Mayweather?
By Chris Williams: In an article from Mike Markey at Boxing Confidential, he says that general mood of things aren’t going well in the camp of Juan Manuel Marquez as he prepares for his September 19th fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. According to Marley, Marquez’s trainer Nacho Beristain isn’t happy with the lack of sparring partners for Marquez, specifically one that can fight in the same manner as Mayweather.
HBO Mayweather-Marquez 24/7, episode 1 = Very Boring
By Manuel Perez: I don’t know what the producers of the HBO Mayweather-Marquez 24/7 series were thinking when they put together the first episode, but they need to do some planning to try to liven things up. The reality show was flat out boring and painful to watch. I mean, it wasn’t nearly as boring at watching the Hatton-Pacquiao 24/7 episodes, because that was all time bad television as far as I’m concerned. But last Saturday night’s Mayweather-Marquez 24/7 was approaching the Hatton-Pacquiao series in the boredom department.
Marquez: “He [Mayweather] Doesn’t Like to be Hit”
By Dave Lahr: In last night’s HBO Mayweather-Marquez 24/7, episode 1 special, Juan Manuel Marquez (50-4, 37 KO’s) summed up his September 19th opponent Floyd Mayweather Jr. pretty well, saying “ He’s a fighter that doesn’t like to be hit.” Marquez made it clear that he intends on hitting Mayweather as frequently as he can and he will be hoping to be one of the few fighters that have put hands on Floyd.
Roach talks down Marquez-Mayweather
By Jason Kim: In an interview at the boxing site Fight Hype, trainer Freddie Roach had little good to say about next month’s bout between Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr., saying “They’ve already given up on pay-per-view audiences. They know it’s not going to sell well.”
Pacquiao, Mayweather, Pavlik: In Dire Need to Dominate
By Trevor Weis: Following the Ortiz/Maidana fight, Max Kellerman went on to say that “more is required in the sport of boxing than any other, maybe more than what is reasonable.” And even though we as boxing fans may not truly understand, still we demand more. After all, who is in need of a mediocre hero? Who cheers for the simply average athlete?
News – DeGale to Spar with Mayweather Jr.
By Scott Gilfoid: 2008 British Olympic Gold Medalist James DeGale (3-0, 2 KO’s) is reportedly excited about being able to spar with Floyd Mayweather Jr. DeGale will be sparring with Mayweather in Las Vegas as Floyd prepares for his September 19th fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. First of all, I think Mayweather is making a huge mistake of having DeGale as one of his sparring partner.
