Image: Mayweather versus Pacquiao: The Ball is now in Manny’s Court - Breaking NewsBy Giancarlo Malinconico: According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Richard Schaefer, who is representing Floyd Mayweather in negotiations, has stated that the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) conducted testing of both fighters is not a necessary condition any longer.Testing conducted by an independent agency would be sufficient. Perhaps members of Golden Boy Promotions and the Mayweather camp (whom I have heard are big fans of Boxing News 24.com) have smartened up and read my latest article, Mayweather versus Pacquiao: If the fight does not Happen, Floyd will have Blood on his Hand.

Before that announcement, the Mayweather’s had been trying without success to get Pacquao to take a random Olympic style drug test, which Pacquiao wanted no part of. The fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao has dissolved because of this one issue. However, if the Mayweather’s back off for their request for Pacquiao to take the blood tests, will Pacquiao forget about his lawsuit and then take the fight?

Mayweather and Pacquiao should move on

Image: Mayweather and Pacquiao should move onBy Trevor Cromwell: The biggest disappointment in the sport of boxing going into 2010 is that we most likely will not see the fight of the century, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao. Reasons steaming behind the canceled fight are due to Pacquiao’s reluctance to take Olympic-style random blood tests. Leaving many fans, spectators, and even other boxing legends weighing in on what the real reasons behind the cancellation are. Pacquiao sues Mayweather: It looks as if the fight will never happen now

By Eric Thomas: Last night it was learned that World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao plans on suing Floyd Mayweather Jr., Floyd Sr. and Golden Boy Promotions for false accusations related to Pacquiao using performance enhancing drugs. Regardless of whether the suit is eventually thrown out or not or ends up sticking, this may be the final nail in the coffin for the proposed mega fight. It’s hard to imagine that the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight will take place now with a lawsuit weighing them down. If Pacquiao is dead certain on suing the Mayweathers, it’s highly unlikely the bout will be repairable.

Arum says Mayweather-Pacquiao fight dead: Manny to fight Malignaggi next

Image: Arum says Mayweather-Pacquiao fight dead: Manny to fight Malignaggi nextBy Eric Thomas: According to news reports, Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum is saying the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is dead in the water because of the failure of the two parties over the Olympic style drug tests that Mayweather’s team wants. Instead, Pacquiao will go in a different direction and fight Paulie Malignaggi on March 13th. This is a huge letdown to say the least. Malignaggi isn’t anywhere close to being as good as Mayweather, and was stopped last year in the 11th round by Ricky Hatton.

Bradley willing to fight Pacquiao or Mayweather

Image: Bradley willing to fight Pacquiao or MayweatherBy Chris Williams: With the bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao not doing well because of Pacquiao’s reluctance to take random Olympic style drug tests, unbeaten World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11 KO’s) is willing to step in and take on either Mayweather or Pacquiao, according to Fight News. Bradley, a total professional, is even willing to move up to welterweight to make a fight with those two. By choosing Bradley as an alternative, Pacquiao and Mayweather can’t go wrong. Bradley is considered to be the best fighter in the light welterweight division by many boxing experts.
