The final judges’ scores were 100-91, 100-91 and 100-90. Although Tua was unable to take King out, Tua landed a massive amount of power shots that would have knocked out most heavyweights in the top 10. Tua was throwing with a lot of power and looked good.

By Jason Kim: 38-year-old heavyweight David Tua (51-3-2, 43 KO’s) will be returning to action on March 19th against Demetrius King (15-19, 13 KO’s) in yet another tune-up fight. Tua last fought in July, and was held to a 12 round draw against journeyman Monte Barrett. Shockingly, Tua was dropped in the 12th round and was badly hurt by Barrett. After the fight, it was learned that Tua’s left shoulder had badly injured prior to the Barrett fight and Tua had taken the fight fight anyway.

However, not all of those heavyweights will be available in December and some may be reluctant to face Wladimir right now.

So I’ve watched the fight tape to see where Tua went wrong and the obvious sign was he had gained weight and did not look as conditioned as he was in the Shane Cameron and Friday Anunanya fight and after the fist 5 rounds he seemed hesitant in finishing Barrett off.
