By Jim Dower: WBA Super World featherweight champion Chris John (44-0-2, 22 KO’s) will be putting his unbeaten record and World Boxing Association title on the line against Daud Cino Yordan (27-1, 21 KO’s) on April 17th at the Jakarta Trade Expo, in Jakarta, Indonesia. This figures to be a very tough fight for the 31-year-old John, as Yordan, ranked #6 WBA and #8 WBO, brings a lot of the same things that Rocky Juarez brought to the table in his tough fights with John.

Image: Caballero schools YordanBy Scott Gilfoid: Celestino Caballero (34-2, 23 KO’s) moved up in weight to easily defeat Daud Cino Yordan (25-1, 19 KO’s) to win the World Boxing Association featherweight interim title on Saturday night at the BankAtlantic Center, in Sunrise, Florida. The final judges’ scores were 119-108, 119-108 and 120-107. Despite losing, Yordan showed good power and excellent hand speed. Where he blew it was by not throwing enough punches and by constantly smothering Caballero without being busy enough.

Image: Caballero dominates Yordan in 12 solid roundsBy Sam Gregory: In the co-main event undefeated Daud Cino Yordan 25-0 with 19 KO’s of Indonesia takes on Panamanian Celestino Caballero 33-2 with 23 KO’s for the interim WBA world welterweight title in a scheduled 12 round bout in the featherweight division.

Round 1 Caballero came out throwing his jab; Yordan blocked most of the shots. Caballero followed his jab with an uppercut to the body. Caballero landed several solid body shots in the round.

Daud Yordan – a Younger Version of Pacquiao?

yordan4534By Chris Williams: Perhaps the only fighter to come out shining from this Saturday’s bout in San Jose, California, was the undefeated Daud Yordan (23-0, 17 KOs), who gave super featherweight Robert Guerrero (23-1-1, 16 KOs) all he could handle until a cut above Guerrero’s right eye caused the early stoppage of the fight. The bout was stopped by the ringside doctor after a brief conversation with Guerrero at the side of the ring during which time the referee asked Guerrero if he wanted to continue.

Did Guerrero Quit Against Yordan?

guerrero444445By Chris Williams: I went into Saturday’s super featherweight matchup between former featherweight champion Robert Guerrero (23-1-1, 16 KOs) and his opponent Indonesian Daud Cino Yordan (23-0, 17 KOs) thinking that Guerrero would easily win the fight due to his power, skill, home town advantage and experience. However, the fight turned out to be the exact opposite of what I thought it would be, as Yordan showed incredible speed, excellent power and looked to be the sharper puncher of the two up until the fight was stopped due to a cut over the right eye of Guerrero in the 2nd.
