Kalle Sauerland says “The judges won’t be needed” for Froch-Abraham bout

Image: Kalle Sauerland says "The judges won't be needed" for Froch-Abraham boutBy Scott Gilfoid: Kalle Sauerland, the promoter for Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s), doesn’t think the judges will be needed for the September stage 3 Super Six bout between Abraham and former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s). Sauerland said this in response to the bellyaching from Froch, who is overly worried about not being able to win a decision if the Abraham-Froch fight takes place in Germany. Ever since Froch lost his stage 2 Super Six bout to Mikkel Kessler by a 12 round unanimous decision in April in a fight in Kessler’s home country of Denmark, Froch has been stressing about not losing another by what he feels is an unfair decision.

Image: Froch wants to fight Abraham in Ireland, Showtime to decide in next few daysBy Scott Gilfoid: If former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) gets his way his next fight against Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) will be taking place in Dublin, Ireland rather than Monaco or some other venue on September 18th or October 2nd. However, Showtime will be deciding where the fight will ultimately take place in the next few days, which is good news for boxing fans tired of all this nonsense about venues.

Andre Ward interested in fighting Carl Froch

Image: Andre Ward interested in fighting Carl FrochBy Scott Gilfoid: It seems that former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) has upset the incredibly talented WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (22-0, 13 KO’s), who isn’t happy with some of Froch’s comments that he’s been making about him before and after his fights. Ward, 26, now would like nothing better to fight Froch, his fellow Super Six tournament contestant to show him who better fighter is. My my, it looks like Froch has really stepped in it this time.

Image: Froch says Abraham will have “No place to hide”By William Mackay: Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) will be gunning for a knockout win in his next Super Six tournament bout against Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) when he meets him in September sometime in a neutral venue that’s yet to be determined. In an article from thisisnottingham.co.uk yesterday, Froch gave his thoughts about what he plans on doing against the hardest puncher in the Super Six: “Against, me, he’ll have no place to hide as I’m going to take it straight to him Looping shots around his guard to his temple and ribs.“

Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-Green predictions

Image: Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-Green predictionsBy William Mackay: The next stage of the Super Six tournament should be a little more interesting with some of the best matches, at least on paper, in the tourney. Without a date set, the fight between former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch vs. Arthur Abraham should take place in September, unless Froch holds out hoping to land a fight in Nottingham or some other venue more to his liking. Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward face each other in an all American battle.

How is Froch going to use Dirrell’s blueprint to beat Abraham?

Image: How is Froch going to use Dirrell's blueprint to beat Abraham?By Scott Gilfoid: Recently, former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) said that he would be using Andre Dirrell’s blueprint he created to beat Froch’s next Super Six tournament opponent Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) when they meet up in September. However, I’m at loss wondering how Froch is going to be able to use the blueprint that Dirrell created for the Abraham fight when Froch doesn’t appear to have any of the same attributes that Dirrell possesses.

Abraham vs. Froch: Is Carl about to see his Super Six dreams die?

Image: Abraham vs. Froch: Is Carl about to see his Super Six dreams die?By William Mackay: Assuming that former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) does eventually find a venue that’s agreeable to him for his fight with Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) in September, is Froch about to get knocked out and then knocked out of the Super Six tournament? Froch, 32, can no longer afford to lose another fight if he wants to continue on into the semifinals of the Super Six tourney. Froch was beaten pretty conclusively in his last fight by Mikkel Kessler in Herning, Denmark, although Froch would be the last one to admit it.

Image: Froch says that Kessler is just borrowing his WBA beltBy William Mackay: Carl Froch (26-1, 20 Ko’s) is hoping he can get another shot against Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) in the Super Six tournament. Not only did Froch suffer his first defeat of his eight year pro career, but he also lost his World Boxing Council super middleweight title to Kessle in the process. Froch, speaking in his column at thisisnottingham.co.uk, said “I would not leave it to the judges in a rematch…Congratulations, Mikkel, but you’re only borrowing that belt.”

Froch still talking about his loss to Kessler

Image: Froch still talking about his loss to KesslerBy Scott Gilfoid: My my, it looks like former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) is still bitter and troubled by his 12 round decision loss Mikkel Kessler in April. In a column written by Froch at Thisisnottingham.co.uk, complains about a number of things related to the Kessler fight. It’s hard to keep track of all the different things that Froch feels unhappy about. He didn’t like the date change, the flight over to Denmark from England, the judge’s scores for the fight and Abraham’s promoters Sauerland Events.
