Miranda vs. Ward on May 16th
By Jim Dower: Colombian knockout artist Edison Miranda (32-3, 28 KOs) will be taking another big career risk when he faces 2004 light heavyweight Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward (18-0, 12 KOs) at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California. Ward’s team feels that he’s ready to take a big step in competition and is willing to risk a future title shot in putting him in with the explosive punching Miranda. Ward, 25, is currently ranked number #1 in the WBO, and doesn’t to face a tough opponent like Miranda in order to get a title shot.
News – Miranda vs. Ward?
By Eric Thomas: According to the latest bit of gossip that’s being thrown around the boxing world, rumor has it that Colombian knockout artist Edison Miranda (32-3, 28 KOs) will be mixing it up with 2004 light heavyweight Olympic Gold Medalist for the United States Andre Ward (18-0, 12 KOs). Although this is all just a rumor at this time and nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but this would be huge news for the boxing world if it turns out to be true. Ward, 25, a resident of Oakland, California is highly ranked in the light heavyweight division and is likely to be getting a title shot if not this year then sometime in early 2010.

Dirrell, 24, a 2008 Olympic Bronze medalist for the United States, literally toyed with his opponent Findley for six rounds until the fight was mercifully stopped in the 6th by Gary Ritter.
