Groves: Whoever [Dirrell-DeGale] holds their composure the best will win

_MG_7233(Photo credit: Suzanne Teresa/Premier Boxing Champions) By Allan Fox: There are a lot of people who don’t know who to pick between Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16 KOs) and James DeGale (20-1, 14 KOs) in their big fight today in Boston. One person who appears to have a good idea who will win the fight is top #1 WBC contender George Groves, who believes that DeGale has a good chance of winning the fight.

Groves believes that the winner of the fight will be the guy that stays calm, and jumps out ahead first. He feels that whoever gets momentum in their favor early in the fight will be the one that wins.

DeGale will need to pressure Dirrell and hope he fades

_MG_0083(Photo credit: Suzanne Teresa/Premier Boxing Champions) By Scott Gilfoid: The way I see it, James DeGale (20-1, 14 KOs) is up the creek without a paddle today in his fight against the more talented Andre Dirrell (24-1, 14 KOs) at the Agganis Arena, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

This is not a good match-up for the 29-year-old DeGale. If you look at the kind of guys that DeGale has been fighting in the past four years to help boost his confidence and improve his won-loss record, he’s pretty much put in with slow guys without hand speed, with no ability to move, and with limited athletic ability and punching power.

DeGale has got a really difficult task ahead of him in this fight because he’s facing a guy that is a lot more talented than him in 31-year-old Dirrell. DeGale picked the wrong guy to try and make history against.

Dirrell has the edge over DeGale, says Booth

_DM34444(Photo credit: Carly Gillis Photography) By Scott Gilfoid: Trainer Adam Booth believes that the talented Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16 KOs) should be considered the favorite for Saturday night against James DeGale (20-1, 14 KOs) in their fight for the vacant IBF super middleweight title at the Agganis Arena, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

The fight, which will be televised on NBC on Premier Boxing Champions, pits two southpaws with slick fighting styles. The main difference between them, besides age, is Dirrell’s superior hand speed, mobility, defensive skills, power and experience. DeGale has youth on his side, as he’s two years younger than Dirrell. That obviously isn’t a huge gap in age, which is why I don’t see it as being an asset for DeGale.
