Froch Calls Khan Boring: What Else Is New?

By Scott Gilfoid: I wonder if World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch just woke up from a 100 year sleep or something, because when he said that he thought Amir Khan looked boring after watching five rounds of his fight with Andriy Kotelnik, it really wasn’t all that enlightening. I hate to break this news to Froch, but Khan has been boring to watch for some time.

Roach Sees Khan as Number Ten In the Pound for Pound List

khan342By Scott Gilfoid:Trainer Freddie Roach seems to be losing his ability to judge boxing talent. Not only does he see WBA light welterweight champion as one of the future stars in boxing on par with Floyd Mayweather Jr., but Roach is already ranking the 22-year-old Khan at number #10 in the pound-for-pound list. This has got to be the worst selection of a pound for pound fighter I’ve ever seen. Khan seems like a nice guy, but he doesn’t belong anywhere close to any pound for pound list based on a handful of wins over B-level fighters.

Khan Wants to Conquer America – News

khan434234By Jason Kim: With his impressive performance in defeating WBA light welterweight champion Andry Kotelnik last weekend, Britain’s Amir Khan is looking to conquer new territory and is hoping to branch out and start fighting in the United States where he hopes to win new fans. It’s a smart move if Khan, 22, can pull it off because if he’s able to become a success in the U.S., it will mean much bigger chances for mega fights for the former Olympic Silver Medalist.

Is Khan the Most Protected Fighter In Boxing?

By Scott Gilfoid: Thus far Amir Khan has yet to rehabilitate himself since losing a 1st round knockout at the hands of Breidis Prescott last September. Naturally, there hasn’t been a rematch with the Colombian Prescott, and I doubt there ever will. That would seem like the logical thing for Khan to do. It probably won’t ever happen unless Prescott starts getting knocked out every fight all of a sudden.

Will Khan fight Erik Morales Next

khan3324By Scott Gilfoid: With the potential fight against Ricky Hatton off the table after Ricky quashed those rumors by saying he wasn’t interested, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) has to find someone for his next opponent. Freddie Roach, Khan’s trainer, mentioned Erik Morales as a potential opponent a couple of weeks ago. Morales, 33, hasn’t fought in two years and has ballooned up in weight since that time. However, he reportedly is interested in making a comeback, so a fight with Khan might be an option.

Brook Wants Jennings; Hamed sees Little In Common With Khan – News

jennings224By William Mackay: After an impressive 3rd round TKO defeat of Michal Lomax last Saturday night, British welterweight champion Kell Brook (20-0, 13 KO’s) is now aiming for former BBBofC welterweight champion Michael Jennings (35-2, 17 KO’s) next. A victory over the 31-year-old Jennings would be a good victory for Brook to add to his growing collection of wins since turning pro five years ago in 2004.
