By William Mackay: Unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s) has repeatedly let IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO’s) know what he has to do in order to get a fight with him, but it looks as if Khan has no interest in following Mayweather’s directions of fighting the hard hitting fringe contender Jessie Vargas (17-0, 9 KO’s).

By William Mackay: The December 10th fight between IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO’s) and his No.1 IBF mandatory challenger 27-year-old Lamont Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO’s) will be taking place in Washington, DC, according to boxing news from Yahoo and Golden Boy Promoter Richard Schaefer. The fight will take place in the United States capital, but the venue still hasn’t been selected as of yet.

By William Mackay: Responding to a twitter post from IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan where Khan pointed out that Maidana has rarely been fighting top 10 guys for the past couple of years, Marcos Maidana responded back with his views on the guys that Khan has been fighting as of late, saying “See some of Khan’s rivals: Oisin Fagan, semi-retired [Marco Antonio] Barrera, [Andriy] Kotelnik 3 months after I fought him, Dimitriy Salita & washed up [Zab] Judah. Wow!”

By William Mackay: Yesterday, WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (31-2, 28 KO’s) playfully suggested that IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO’s) become his adviser after Khan critiqued Maidana’s choice of opponent for his last fight Petr Petrov, who was a last minute replacement to substitute for the injured Robert Guerrero.
