By Dan Amrbose: World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman will be sanctioning the fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis ‘Superman’ Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) and former 2 division world champion Badou ‘The Ripper’ Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs). Additionally, the WBC will also be ordering a fight between #1 WBC Eleider Alvarez (23-0, 11 KOs) and #2 WBC Oleksandr Gvozdyk (14-0, 12 KOs). This will be a mini-tournament, according to Sulaiman.

This is a fight that boxing fans have been waiting for and it finally looks like it’s about to happen.

According to Jack, part of the agreement he signed for his fight against Nathan Cleverly on August 26 was that he would vacate the WBA 175 lb. title so they could get up another bigger fight than that.

The condensed version of this argument is that Alvarez has been mandatory for two years and wants his shot, Adonis Stevenson wants Jack because there’s more money in it and the WBC has a decision to make.
