MEDFORD, Mass. (October 31, 2011) – Two-time World Boxing Association (“WBA”) heavyweight champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz is the subject of a bi-lingual, children’s book, Hooks & Jabs, which was written by Jose-Gabriel Almeida and illustrated by Jan Michaelsy.

MEDFORD, Mass. (August 15, 2011) – Two-time World Boxing Association (“WBA”) heavyweight champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz has opened Quietman Sports Gym, inside of Gold’s Gym in Medford (4000 Mystic Valley Parkway), which is a suburb of Boston and only a few miles from where Ruiz grew-up in Chelsea.

BOSTON (May 9, 2011) – Two-time world heavyweight boxing champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz is the Grand Marshal for Saturday (May 14) afternoon’s (12 noon—4:00 PM) 22nd annual Phantom Gourmet Safari (PGS), benefiting The Joey Fund to raise a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, at Suffolk Downs in East Boston.
