Bute dominated and schooled Andrade last time and he will do this again and this time without any unnecesary risk. And in the future an interesant fight will be between Bute and the winner of the super six for the supermiddleweight supremacy.

Preferably into next year as he is a coward and should be fighting in the super 6. Only instead he ducked all the fighters and slagged them off instead

I am dissapointed with some of the comments on this article. I am British and have many friends of all kinds of race. I actually betted on Ward to win as i watched some of his early fights and thought wow this guy is very good. I knew Kessler was way past his best and i do think it would have been closer without the accidental head clashes. However take nothing away from Ward he is the deserved new hampion. Also it was Lucian Bute who turned down 5 million to fight Froch not the other way round. I do think Froch will win the super 6 but some of the racist comments about other fighters are disgraceful and if Froch heard you talking like that he’d be extremely upset being the decent bloke that he is. I actually see Taylor profiting from this as i think his style has a good chance of taking the belt from Ward who does not have quite enough power to take advantage of his weaknesses in the championship rounds and then Taylor will just manage to keep the belt against Kessler. This will build things up nice for the semis. Froch will destroy Kessler before chipping a poins victory against Abrahams.
This would probably mean the semis will be a 1st place Froch rematch against 3rd place Taylor for a title unification bout and Abrahams will face the winner of Dirrell vs Ward. Who i think will be Dirrell because of his amazing speed and the lesson he learnt from his last fight against Froch. This would also be great because i think Abrahams will edge Dirrell in the next fight and then they would have a rematch in the semis. In my opinion this would be great because the final would probably then be Froch vs Dirrell as Dirrell is learning all the time and is a great fighter. Take nothing away from Ward he is great but i see him being overpowered and outboxed by Taylor in the next 1. I know all this sounds crazy but i have put money on all three fights of the super 6 so far and won so you should give the idea a run around your heads. As for the racist comments those people dont deserve the privilege of watching these warriors going toe to toe and are a disgrace to the sport

Hats of to Ward geat boxing,not bad punch power too. Although i wasnt impressed with the ref at all who seemmed very biased, even so Ward would still have won.

Now i know of a topic that will come up from our nut job Scotty and that will be “does Wards win over kessler discredit Calzaghe?” i myself dont think so, as Ward has just entered his prime, whereas Calzaghe was way past his prime when fighting kessler and Kessler was at his peak when fighting Calzaghe also styles make fights, even though ward says he has no style. I`d be interested in time to see Bika fight Ward, if people get my point.

I have watched Ward fight before and he is well known in sparing to do a lot of head butts and elbows when inside and his big punch is average at best. If the next fighter stay’s away from his head he schould win with ease and send Ward back to the hood bankrupt…..

Oh i dont know borisz64., Froch got very lucky against Dirrell and I had Abraham winning on points by a good few rounds before the KO.

I think Dirrell is certainly not out of the competition and i think he will of learned alo from the Froch fight.

I think the whole tournement is quite open now. Before it all kicked off i said Abraham was guna be the weakest. Now ive seen them all fight id say Abraham has been the most impressive. Though so was Ward last night.

As I said before the fight:
Ward is olympic champ, and becoming so is more difficult than becoming world champ with the professionals.
Are you olympic champ you are not only good, but very good, and Ward showed that yesterday.
As danish I hoped Kessler would prevail, bu Ward was just in another leaque.
Who the favorit now is to win it all?
I must say Ward and Carl Froch….Abraham was losing to Taylor in my opinion before he got that lucky punch. He really is not a good enough fighter to win on points over Froch, Ward, Dirrel or Kesser. Abrahams only chanse is keep winning on KO, because he indeed has the hardest punch of them all.
For me the two best as of now are Ward and Froch.

Fair play to ward, I didn’t see him winning, but his performance definately impressed me. Although I was really dissapointed with kessler, he just didn’t turn up and I also thought the referee also gave a poor account of himself. But take nothing away from ward, even though he was helped no end by the accidently clash of heads, he deserved to win and was doing so comfortably. I think he can go a long way, although it would have been nice to see his chin tested, but he moved excellently. I don’t see froch causing him any problems at all.

Yes indeed, only a total of 5 times.

Ward looks to be a great boxer indeed, lacks any real power from what I see though, great jab of course and speed. He wont get away with holding in th inside and punching if he fights elsewhere though.

Kessler rusted and in need of some WD40 and a slap on the face for make us Euro’s site up till half 3 to watch a poor performance

I was impressed by Ward’s speed and combination punching, but extremley dissappointed by his often very dirty tactics. Ward constantly leaned in with his head … and it was entirely intentional and all part of their game plan. I think Kessler still showed what a strong guy he is … just wondered how much of the same Ward could take if he was on the recieving end ?

I still think Abraham is going to be the fighter to beat … Froch will give Ward trouble, despite his open style.

lets get back to reality,kessler has been and stayed wba champion for many years due to fighting dead beats and bums,when he didnt and fought 2 people who are decent in calzaghe and ward,,he lost,,you will see what i mean in copenhagen,when carl froch will not only beat kessler he will beat him badly as he hits like a mule and his strenth and chin are pound for pound the best in boxing,yes he is not the most gifted of fighters but he has far too much in his armoury for any other fighter in this super 6,ward and dirrell may test him but he will demolish kessler and abraham….

On the other hand being a boxing fan it is easy for me to say that ward is a very good boxer indeed, he won the fight and thats just about all there is to it.

I wanted Kessler to win, but that is boxing, someone gets beat.

He certainly did a job on Kessler. Very very good. Kessler tried to live with him but was beaten to the punch by a quicker and more accurate boxer.

The butts did leave their mark on Kessler but im never guna say thats the reason he lost. Ward looked bigger, faster, younger and more skilled. He looked like the champion in there.

Dirrell impressed the hell out of me for 6 rounds, then went to pot, Ward impressed the hell out of me all night. If Ward was a bigger puncher hed be lethal.

I did predict a Kessler win like most people but he just wasnt accurate enough and couldnt get to grips with Ward at all.

Was it ring rust? was it the headbuts? I just think he didnt look in Wards league. Well done man that was a FANTASTIC performance.
