On May 19 at the Meadows Casino in Washington, PA, unbeaten middleweight Chris Cella (2-0, 2 KO) will square off against tough southpaw Carlos Cruz (1-3, 1 KO) in a 4 round contest.

The fight is part of a stacked card of World Fighting Championships (WFC) 87, featuring a handful of top up and coming boxers.

Cella is coming off a second round TKO over Shawn Hodson last July, and is excited about making his return to the ring.

“I’m beyond pumped for this fight, finally a chance to fight in front of my local hometown fiends and family,” said Cella. “It’s an honor be fighting with such a prestigious promotional company like WFC, and I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity to bang. Cruz is a tough southpaw and I know he’s going to come to fight, so I will be ready.”

Cruz broke into the professional boxing scene in 2016, and following a KO win in his debut, suffered a questionable majority decision loss. Since he has lost twice, but will undoubtedly be looking to put Cella down en route to getting his hand raised again.

The style matchup between the fast and strong orthodox against the slick and unrelenting southpaw should produce fireworks for the fight fans in attendance.

“I gotta give big time thanks to my sponsor and top pal Rodney Engberson, owner of Blackout Fight Gear. For over a year they have been protecting my hands with the best wraps and by far the best quality training and fighting gloves on the market. And they just released the safest headgear on the market, Brain Vault. Rodney and Blackout are continuing to revolutionize the fight game. Thanks to Team Blackout for believing and supporting me inside the squared circle. And of course a huge thanks to my best friend and love of my life, my wife Becky. None of this would be possible if not for you. BC for life.”
