By Gerardo Granados: The former heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury finally was cleared by the BBBOC, but he refused to license himself with them again arguing displeasure by the way that he has been treated.

It’s odd that other boxers who were caught positive came back a lot sooner or in some cases not even a suspension was ordered. All those cases are of public knowledge so I will just omit the names of the many heavyweights who have tested positive in the last five years.

I find it really strange to see how many UK fans dislike Fury; some of those critics seem to me to be young fight fans, so maybe they don’t know how old boxers used to behave all the time. It is a fact that society has changed a lot and I will say not in a positive manner, but it is what it is and this is a boxing forum, so I guess the reader as a grown up can understand and handle adult issues without the constant need to behave like a teenager.

There was a comment made on Twitter by the former Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko after he was defeated by Anthony Joshua, he said that the torch was passed. But how can the torch have been passed when the torch rests in Tyson Fury´s hands? Anthony Joshua holds two manufactured belts and must get validation as a genuine champion by beating Fury, who is the true bearer of the torch, or Anthony would risk being criticized as Mike Tyson was.

Once upon a time in boxing history, the bore dome king dome kept many fight fans away, uninterested from the heavyweight division, but it was Tyson Fury who slay the Old Dragon to bring back excitement to the heavyweight division. The Dark Age in the heavyweight division took so much time that perhaps a full generation of fight fans was lost in the process. The reader must remember how the heavyweight landscape was just three years ago.

Love him or hate him but Tyson Fury can draw huge audiences, he is a very unique boxer, and his comeback for sure will be the main event of the boxing year. But, can he regain his old form? Not just to drop all that excessive weight he has put on but what about his timing, his reflexes and mostly his mindset? Well there is only one way to find out isn’t it.

If Fury won’t apply for a boxing license in the UK would he be interested to come to America where for sure he would not find much trouble getting it. Yes, right now Deontay Wilder is the American hope, he holds the WBC strap but competition has always improved things here. I bet the main promoters and TV CEO´s will be interested in Tyson Fury but there is the business side in all of this that shouldn’t be so hard to arrange.

I believe that it can’t be that hard for Fury to build a solid fan base here in America, Tyson is loud and articulated and for sure entertaining to watch, so for me it would be great if he decided to come here to rebuild his boxing career. But what about the reader, do you agree?
