By Dan Ambrose: Former WBA middleweight champion Danny “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) sent out a Tweet tonight wishing Saul Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 Kos) and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin good luck for their fight tonight.

“Good luck to my next opponent!” said Jacobs on his Twitter.

Jacobs, 30, says he wants the winner of the fight. He already lost to Golovkin earlier this year on March 18, and now he wants a rematch against him or a fight against Canelo, who he feels he can beat.
If Golovkin beats Canelo, there will be a huge pressure on him to face Jacobs in his next fight if Canelo and Golden Boy Promotions aren’t ready to make the rematch in December. It’s thought that Golden Boy will wait until the next Mexican holiday in May of next year for the Golovkin rematch rather than staging the fight in December.

That means Jacobs could get either one of these 2 fighters. It’s still a tough ask to assume that Canelo can beat a guy as big as the 6’1” Jacobs, as he has so much size over the 5’8” Mexican fighter. It would be a really tough fight for Canelo. He doesn’t have huge power, and he kind of would need to land something perfectly placed for him to best a guy like Jacobs.

Canelo could face Miguel Cotto in a rematch rather than Jacobs in December. Cotto is retiring after December, and he’s already fought Canelo and brought in over 900,000 PPV buys in that fight.
