Wanheng Outpoints Kimweri in Bloody Fight

By Boxing-Boy: “Little Giant” Wanheng Menayothin, aka. Wanheng Kaiyanghadaogym, retained his WBC World Minimumweight title by unanimous decision won over the Tanzanian-based Australian fighter “Lion Boy” Omari Kimaweri at Rayong Province Central Stadium in Thailand, late afternoon on Saturday June 3rd (local time).

Kimweri, who is the former WBC Silver Flyweight champion, and the Thailander exchanged their many effective blows since the opening bell sound. Suddenly both fighters clashed their head and causing a cut wound and bleeding on the left eyebrows of the Thai world champion. The Newzelander referee deducted a point to Kimweri.

Wanheng landed his big punches to his challenger’s face in round 2 and kept the advantage until finish the 4th round. Opening score cards after 4th round showed 39-36, 39-36, and 39-36 all favor for Wanheng.

The Thailander had more boxing skill and landed more effective punches than his challenger during 5th to 8th rounds. All 3 judges gave 78-73, 78-73, and 79-72 for the world champion. And final score cards after 12th round showed 117-110, 118-109, and 118-109, therefore Wanheng retained his WBC world Minimumweight for 7 times. This fight was promoted by Diamond Boxing Promotion (Pethyindee Boxing Promotion) of Thailand.

Wonheng is planning to have his next defending fight around October or November 2017.
