On October 8th in a small little town in New Zealand, Thomas Heads will go head to head with Lance Bryant for the third time. The two will be fighting for the World Boxing Federation Oceania Cruiserweight title in Feilding, New Zealand.

Thomas heads (2 – 5 – 0) from the southern part of New Zealand in Invercargill, New Zealand, is very well known for being a father to seven children.

One of the biggest fight wins of his career was on the Joseph Parker vs Bowie Tupou undercard, winning in his hometown against MMA fight Robert Dean. His most recognized fight was against Herman Ene Purcell, where even Purcell trainer thought Heads won the fight, but the fight ended in MD win to Purcell. Heads was originally scheduled to fight Asher Derbyshire on April 29th for the NZPBA title, however due to a Major concussion caused by the fight against Purcell, Heads had to pull out.

After this fight against Bryant, Heads will be traveling up to Auckland to fight against Nikolas Charalampous in a 95 kg Catchweight heavyweight bout. If Heads wins this bout, this will be his first pro boxing title.

Lance Bryant (8 – 3 – 0) will be fighting for the first time in Fielding. He is the current IBO Asia Pacific and Interim NZNBF Cruiserweight Champion, which he won both titles against James Langton in June this year.

Bryant has taken part in three Super 8 Cruiserweight tournaments, with all three events producing different results. In the first event, Bryant was eliminated in the first, reaching Semi Finals in the second event and the finals in the last event.

Bryant has won multiple national amateur titles including New Zealand National Amateur Championship in Junior 1995 (Lt Heavy), Junior 1996 (Middle), Intermediate 1997 (Lt Heavy), Elite 1999 (Middle) and Elite 2004 (Lt Heavy). Bryant older brother Robbie (20 – 4 – 1) has held many titles including multiple New Zealand National Amateur titles, Western Australia State, WBA – PABA and IBF Australasian Middleweight titles. Robbie had a homecoming fight in May this year, fighting on the same card as his brother Lance and fighting for the first time in New Zealand as a pro.

This third fight between Heads and Bryant will be the biggest fight out of them all. This main event fight will be held at the Civic Centre in Fielding, New Zealand. The bout is set to be 10 x 3 min rounds for the WBA Fed Oceania Cruiserweight title.
