Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs), boxing’s only eight-division world champion and a former two-term congressman, was elected to a Philippine Senate seat in May, garnering over 16 million votes. He is in the U.S. for only a short time to attend a Los Angeles news conference announcing his title challenge of World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight world champion JESSIE VARGAS (27-1, 10 KOs), of Las Vegas, Nev. Pacquiao will return to Manila over the weekend in order to attend Monday’s Senate session. The majority of Pacquiao’s training camp will take place in Manila, while the Senate is in session.
Pacquiao vs. Vargas will take place Saturday, November 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
