By Patrick McHugh: Unbeaten light welterweight prospect Conor Benn (3-0, 2 KOs) put on an impressive punching display in knockout out a game but limited Lukas Radic (3-7-1, 3 KOs) in the 1st round of a scheduled 4-round fight on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Benn, the son of former world champion Nigel Benn, knocked the 24-year-old Radic down twice in the 1st round. Radic was badly hurt after the second knockdown, prompting the referee to stop the contest.

The 19-year-old Benn fought at a slower pace initally compared to how he’d fought in his two previous bouts. However, as the round progressed, Benn began to tee off on Radic with hard right hands to the head. Radick hit the deck from a monstrous right had to the head. Radic tried to fight on but was dropped moments later with another hard right to the head.

Benn looked very good tonight. His punching power is extraordinary. If he can keep progressing in the future, he could a very good fighter.

Making his pro debut, middleweight prospect Felix Cash (1-0) defeated Yailton Neves (0-2) by a 4 round decision. The fight was scored 40-35. The 23-year-old Cash knocked Neves down with a right hand in round one. It looked like the fight was going to be over quickly. However, Neves came back in round two to land some nice shots. He didn’t do enough to win the round, but he showed that he could hit Cash when he wanted to. Cash focused too much on loading up on his power shots and not setting his punches up by jabbing.

Neves, 22, didn’t throw many punches in rounds three and four, but he still was able to hang in there without getting hit with anything too powerful from Cash.

All in all, Cash needs a lot of work if he wants to become a contender in the future. Cash needs to jab more, and use left hand. Most of his power shots were coming with his right. There was a complete lack of finesse from his game.
