broner3By Dan Ambrose: WBA light welterweight champion Adrien Broner went off on Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Wednesday in a Youtube video filled with trash talking. Broner, 26, was unhappy with Mayweather criticizing his recent money-throwing incident at Walmart.

Mayweather saw the video of Broner throwing money on the ground inside a Walmart after receiving change at the cash register. Mayweather didn’t understand Broner’s behavior, because the young fighter was acting as if all the people in the store knew who he was.

Mayweather thinks they probably know who Broner was, and his behavior might have hurt him. In the same video, Broner was seen throwing money out of a car window. Moments later, he stopped to watch people pick up his money.

Broner wasn’t happy with being criticized by Mayweather on the internet, as he thinks he should have called him up if he wanted to talk about his behavior. Broner then went on to say that Mayweather did similar things in terms of throwing money around.

Broner said on this video: “I got some [expletive] to say, some [expletive] that ain’t been sittin’ well with me. I’ve been seeing a lot of blogs, and been hittin’ me up talkin’ bout Floyd talkin’ about me, again. Not once, but this has happened on multiple occasions…When we’re side-to-side we’re all big bro-little bro, ‘I wanna see you do this, I wanna see you surpass me’…and then when you do an interview you talk bad about me. Like, how real is that? Anytime you was in them lawsuits, with your baby mama, and they say you hittin’ her with 3-pieces like you fighting Cotto, I don’t get into that! I don’t say he should’ve did this, should’ve did that, you know what I say, all that, my ain’t do that,’ that’s the type of say…I don’t say ‘Floyd hurtin’ himself.’ Come on bruh, you was the same like, what, four-five years ago burning money in the club. Come on bruh, you like 39. So you was 34 at the time, burning money in the club! But I ain’t say nothing about that,” said Broner.

Broner looks up to Mayweather in what appears to be hero-warship. Broner is like a mini-Mayweather in some respects, both in behavior and in fighting style. With Broner, everything is amplified in terms of his Mayweather-like personality and fighting style. Broner seems to take Mayweather does inside and outside of the ring, and he takes it to another level. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t as far as entertaining people.

Broner continued: “And what I don’t get is I’m just lil’ ol’ Adrien Broner, bruh…I have yet to make the type of money you have made. And we ain’t in the same tax bracket…I’m starting to feel like I’m a threat to you…I just sent you a real sincere text that you ain’t respond back to. But I’m starting to feel like you sayin’ f me’ so it gotta be ‘[expletive] you.’ I’ma be the one to say it, ’cause ain’t nobody around you gonna say it. You might want to help somebody, but you will help somebody for them to do good enough. They might do great, but you don’t want them to do better than you. I’m starting to see that bruh, and this [expletive] ring tears to my eyes to really hear my idol, somebody I put on a pedestal, somebody that I studied every night before I go to sleep. I’m watching your tapes, to hear them talk bad about me?! Okay. Aight. Watch me April 1st. I’ma knock your fighter out. Bye.”

It looks like Mayweather really got on Broner’s nerves with him pointing out that he was disappointed with his behavior. Broner didn’t take the news too well. Instead of being upset about it, Broner should be thankful in a way. Mayweather is the older and more experienced fighter who is an expert at creating an image.

When he sees Broner not acting in the right way to build his own brand, then of course he’s going to try and steer him in the right direction. Broner is right about Mayweather should have called him and told him these things to him personally. It can’t be a good feeling for Broner to hear Mayweather talking about him to the media rather than to his face. It’s got to be a little embarrassing.
