Wladimir: Fury has become nice and polite

wladimir5555By Scott Gilfoid: With there now being only one day before their mega-fight in Dusseldorf, Germany, IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) has noticed how nice Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) has suddenly become now that they’re close to the fight.

At today’s weigh-in, Fury was as meek as a lamb, barely talking at all, and looking unsure of himself during the long minute and a half stare down after the weigh-in. What also was interesting is how Wladimir and Fury appeared to be the exact same height, which makes you wonder whether the claims of Fury being 6’9” all this time was pumped up stats invented to make him sound more menacing than he actually is.

“Most of the fighters get under their own skin and that’s what I saw with Tyson Fury being nasty before and then nice and polite now.”

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Fury so polite and well-mannered before a fight like he is now. It tells me that there might be some fear there with Fury. I think the cold reality is now finally becoming clear to the 27-year-old Fury with him now realizing how things could be when he gets inside the ring with Wladimir tomorrow night in Dusseldorf, Germany. Fury is probably thinking about the beating he’s going to get at the hands of Wladimir and it has him now afraid to utter a peep for fear of it making things worse for him on Saturday.

If things go really bad for Fury, he could wind up getting knocked out in a heartbeat by Klitschko. If that happens, then all Fury’s dreams of big money fights against the likes of Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua will go down the tubes completely for the time being.

Of course, it doesn’t mean that Fury still couldn’t face those guys to get a nice payday after he builds himself up with two or three years of victories, but it does mean that it’s going to take Fury a long, long time to build himself back up top where he is now with his career.

“I’m expecting anything,” Wladimir says. He’s a very flexible fighter. Sometimes he fights in southpaw and sometimes he fights regular. Sometimes he makes funny faces during the fight and a lot more, he talks. So I’m preparing for anything and I don’t think Tyson himself knows what he’s going to do.”

Well, you can expect Fury to pull out every trick in the book depending on how things are going on Saturday night. If things are looking really bleak for Fury, then I can definitely see him fighting out of the southpaw stance, and doing a lot of direction changing moves in the ring.

He’ll also likely move his upper body a lot and lean back to avoid Wladimir’s big shots so that he can frustrate and minimize the amount of shots he gets nailed with. Wladimir needs to avoid getting frustrated in the ring because Fury will be looking to get him upset with his unorthodox movements in the fight. Fury will want to upset Wladimir to the point where he’ll either stop trying r get sloppy with the things he’s doing.
