Fury: I’m going to have to destroy Klitschko

fury44By Scott Gilfoid: There will be a packed house on November 28th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany, and Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) thinks he’s going to steal the crowd with his performance against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs).

Fury acknowledges that the German crowd will be firmly in Wladimir’s favor in this fight, but he thinks that he’s going to have them cheering for him by the end of the fight. Personally, I think Fury is delusional with his thinking. He’s got a serious pipe dream going in thinking that he’s going to be marching out of the ring in Germany being cheered by an adoring crowd of Germans.

If anything, I see Fury being jeered as he leaves the ring in failure after getting blasted out in one or two rounds.

“I’m going to have to do what Rocky did to Drago. They’re going to be against me but I’m going to make them love me. They’ll be cheering ‘Tyson! Tyson! Tyson!” said Fury via skysports.com.

This is too funny. Fury now is picturing himself in the Rocky role as he goes into Germany to beat Klitschko and win over his German fans. I just don’t see it happening for Fury. Indeed, I picture the opposite happening on 11/28.

Of course, I’m being objective about it. You can understand Fury having a vision of him coming out of the fight a winner and a hero, but it’s just such a dream-filled vision though. Fury has got himself all worked up for nothing, and I think he’s going to be in terrible shape after the fight doesn’t go his way in eight days from now.

I just hope he doesn’t do something drastic after he loses, like disappearing and deciding to go live in a cave in the wilderness for the rest of his life. I mean, Fury can’t hide from people if/when this fight doesn’t go well for him. He’s got to face the public and just admit that he wasn’t good enough to beat Klitschko. I think that’s the best way. Unfortunately, I think Fury will retire and just isolate after he loses this fight.

“I’m going to have to go over there and destroy him, and I don’t mean beat him on points and nick a decision,” Fury said. “I mean mentally, physically break him down, wear him out, and knock him out.”

This sounds like a nice vision for Fury if he had the punching power to make it a reality. If Fury could punch like the talented Deontay Wilder, then I could definitely see him blasting Klitschko to smithereens in short order on November 28th, but the problem is Fury is just a weak slapper without the power to hurt Klitschko. This means that Wladimir is going to be able to come forward and unload on Fury with everything but the kitchen sink in this fight without having to worry about getting hit back with a hard head shot that will worry him any.
