Fury doubts he’ll be given a decision over Klitschko

fury5666By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBO Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) has his mind made up that he can’t win a decision in Germany over IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) due to him being a Brit and Klitschko being what he calls a “super champion.”

Fury seems to think that it’s impossible to beat the talented 6’6” Klitschko by a points decision, so he figures he’s got to go in there and try to score a knockout over the 39-year-old fighter. Klitschko has been knocked out three times in his career, but by big punchers each time.

Fury’s punching power is nowhere near the guys that have knocked Klitschko out in the past when he was stopped by Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. So it looks like to me that Fury is already conditioning the boxing public for his ultimate loss on November 28th in their fight at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

“The difference between me and him [Haye] is, I’m a true fighting man and I’d rather go out on my back and be carried out than lose points,” Fury said to skysports.com. “I ain’t going to Germany to play tip-tap boxing. I ain’t going to Germany to win on points.”

By Fury saying he’d “rather go out on” his back, he’s pretty much telling the public ahead of time that he’s going to be knocked out. It’s so obvious. Fury is saying he’s going to get knocked out by Wladimir, and that the only reason he’s going to be KO’d in the fight is because of his bravery rather than any other condition such as him simply not being talented enough. Unfortunately for Fury, I see through this psychological trick.

He’s not pulling the wool over my eyes by saying that the only reason he’s going to be knocked out in this fight is because of his bravery and his decision fight harder than other fighters might do in a similar condition.

“You think they’re going to give a Brit a points decision in Germany over a super champion who has just signed a new five-year deal with RTL. Do you think that’s really going to happen?” Fury said. “I’m going to have to go over there and destroy him. I mean mentally, physically break him down, wear him out and knockout him out.”

Oh brother. Fury thinks he can’t win a decision because he’s a Brit. That is so ridiculous. The judges aren’t going to single the 6’9” Fury out and give him a loss because he’s British. I mean, if the fight goes the full 12 rounds, the judges will call it like they see it.

If Fury does enough to get the victory, then they’ll give it to him. But if Fury fights in an awful manner like he did in his fights against Steve Cunningham and his first fight with “Big” John McDermott, then he’ll lose the fight. It’s as simple as that. However, I don’t think the fight will go to the scorecards on November 28th, and that’s not because Fury will be battling hard. I just see Wladimir getting to Fury’s tender chin with one of his big power shots, and Fury won’t be able to take the shot without dropping for the 10 count on the canvas.
