The Successor of the Torch Bearer

By Gerardo Granados: Mother Nature is savvy and knows when is the right time to allow the young lions to dethrone the lion king and also the Gods of War know very well when it is needed to end the dominion of a deadly warrior.

As for Prize Fighting, I believe that neither Anhur, Ares or Kokou care that much about how much money can a fighter generate to be considered as the torch bearer but instead they as we the savage blood thirsty fight fans just want to see epic battles inside the ring and will favor only the best fighters to be able to become the successor of the torch bearer.

Yes of course the boxing purist will be mad with what I have just written; but I am not worried about them as much as I will if prize fighting gets flooded by Boxing Divas. That might be a concern for the appreciated readers too.

Once a fearsome fighter came from the far Asian Continent and his bravery and killer instinct was a pleasure to watch, but all that changed after money was so much that it extinguished the flame. Same happened to a slick American boxer, in his beginnings he was not reluctant to trade punches but later on as fame and glory accumulated huge amounts of money turned him into a selfish boxer who no longer care to that risks to please the crowd.

Before them others held the torch with pride, can you remember the name of those two heavyweight fighters who would not back down even when they were staggered; or what about that big mouth welter who was as entertaining inside and outside the ring.

A friend of mine thinks that I am bias and he is right; because to me a genuine fighter like the one who I admire was at the same time able to enjoy fame and glory and also would be able to beat a great boxer or to lose against an average fighter depending on if he was well trained or not, but he was indeed a true ring warrior from start to the end. Maybe money wasn’t enough for him to prevent him to unleash the beast that lived inside of him.

Be it if he comes from the North of this Continent, the border of the Tropic of Cancer or the Cold East I believe that we are ready for the new blood of ring warriors who can please our hunger for violence.

Why would I give names to the readers if I do know that we won’t agree on the name of the successor of the torch bearer? You as me must have more than a single candidate and for sure can be as biased as I am towards a favorite boxer.

Maybe we could agree on that the successor can’t be determined on how big his numbers are on the Pay Per View events or the rating he can generate on TV, perhaps we also might agree that he the one chosen must not be a Boxing Diva and cannot hold the torch by picking tailor made opponents to look good. I am sure by now the reader knows the name of the fighter that I am referring to.

So it’s getting late now and I must grab a beer, but before I want to ask to the readers: who is the successor of the Torch Bearer?
