By Chris Williams: Boxing fans are in for a real treat this Saturday night with Floyd Mayweather Jr’s one-sided masterpiece victory over the hungry 32-year-old Andre Berto being replayed on Showtime on 9/18 starting at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. This is the last chance that fans will get to see their star Mayweather in action because he’s now retiring from the sport that he loves after 19 years as a pro.

Mayweather has made a fortune in the ring in bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars. Mayweather isn’t retiring because he’s a rich man like we see other fighters doing after they hit it big.

Mayweather is retiring due to him having run out of challenges. The man has already whipped Manny Pacquiao, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez and Marcos Maidana. There’s nothing left for Mayweather to accomplish inside the ropes.

The only thing that Mayweather could achieve by sticking around would be to beat the lesser names like Amir Khan, Timothy Bradley, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia. No one wants to see Mayweather beat Pacquiao again after how the Filipino fighter failed to put in an exciting fighter like May, and how he revealed that he had fought with a shoulder injury. The Mayweather-Pacquiao oil well has gone dry and there’s no more oil to be pumped from that fight.

“It’s official…You have to know when to hang it up,’’ Mayweather said last Saturday after beating Berto. “I’ve been in this sport 19 years, been a world champion 18 years, broke all the records. There’s nothing else to prove in the sport of boxing.”

The undercard fight between WBO super featherweight champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez and Orlando Salido will be shown this Saturday on the Mayweather-Berto replay. The George Groves vs. WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack won’t be replayed. It’s not a big deal though because the Martinez-Salido 2 fight was much more exciting despite having a less than pleasing outcome.

After the Mayweather-Berto card, it will be followed by ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Berto Epilogue. The All Access episode will lets boxing fans get a sneak peek into the behind the scenes stuff that went on with the Mayweather-Berto fight.

Mayweather’s WBC 147 and 154lb titles will be addressed by the WBC at WBC annual convention

Floyd Mayweather’s WBC welterweight and WBC junior middleweight titles will be addressed by the World Boxing Council at their next annual convention from November 1st to November 6th in China. With Mayweather retiring from the sport, his two titles with the WBC, as well as his WBA 147lb title, will be vacated.

The WBC will then be deciding on which contenders will get the honor of fighting for their 147 and 154lb titles. You’ve got to assume that Amir Khan and Danny Garcia will be strong candidates to fight for the vacant WBC 147lb title. As for Mayweather’s WBC 154lb title, it’s unclear who will be fighting for that belt. #2 WBC Jermell Charlo and #3 WBC Vanes Martirosyan are strong possibilities to fight for Mayweather’s vacant WBC 154lb title. #1 WBC Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will likely not be interested n fighting for the belt.
