cottoBy Paco Gurrola: Pugilists Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto are getting ready to begin their promotional tour for their fight on HBO pay-per-view November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. One of the contemplated destinations is Mexico and both fighters would be landing on Mexican grounds on August 25th.

Even though it has not yet been revealed whether the presentation will be open to the public or not it is almost certain that “Canelo” and Cotto will hold a press conference in Mexico.

The tour is expected to begin August 24th in Los Angeles, California, where “Canelo” holds a large amount of Mexican fans.

The next day it would be in Mexico, although the possibility of fans attending to the conference is still to be determined due to the previous altercations that were presented on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and “Canelo” Alvarez conference back in 2013 in Chapultepec, Mexico.

Following Mexico, “Canelo” and Cotto will travel to New York on August 26th, a place where Cotto is very popular and well known and will for the first time sense the impact of the popular Mexican fighter.

The 4th and last tour date is planned to be on Thursday August 27th, in Puerto Rico, home of Miguel Cotto and where “Canelo” has already been for a previous conference to promote his fight against Erislandy Lara.

Cotto and Alvarez will dispute the World Boxing Council’s middle-weight division title, same organization that is planning on making a special edition belt that will be up for dispute that night.

The fight is set at the 155lbs as a maximum, and will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas NV.

The fight will be interesting, we are expecting a clash of titans. This fight will not only be exciting but it will give us an idea of what the middleweight division expects. If “Canelo” takes the win (as I suspect will happen) we soon may be watching another clash of titans with the popular and dangerous fighter Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in 2016, a fight the world will be happy to watch. Stay posted.
