delahoya56By Demetrius Luke: One of boxing’s former big PPV fighters Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KO’s) is considering making a comeback in boxing and is eyeing a big fight with middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) if he does indeed make the return. De La Hoya has been out of the ring since suffering a one sides loss to Manny Pacquiao in December 2008. Pacquiao totally out classed him and stopped him in the 8th round.

It is unsure why Oscar wants to make a comeback seven years on as financially he is secure and is successfully running his own promotional company with Golden Boy Promotions.

”If I ever come back, and I think about it every day, I’ll fight triple G,” De La Hoya commented to TMZ.com.

Other Hall of Fame fighters in Roy Jones Jr and Shane Mosley have both said they would consider fighting De La Hoya if he decides to fight once more, both of those guys are near enough on the stage of retiring and believe fighting each other is a much better way to go out than fighting a younger guy and possibly ruining their legacy.

Shane Mosley beat De La Hoya twice already in 2000 and 2003, De La Hoya also suffered losses to Felix Trinidad, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Bernard Hopkins over his decorated career.
