Pesee officielle - Cages aux Sports(Photo credit: Photo Credit: Eye of The Tiger Management) By Sarkis Aghbashian: Come Saturday, June 20th, the Bell Centre in Montreal will be hosting a must-see boxing match where a local hero, David Lemieux (33-2-31 KOs), will be facing off against a formidable adversary, Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (31-1-18KOs), for the vacant IBF world middleweight title. Previously, the belt was held by Jermain Taylor (33-4-1-20kos) but was stripped of the honour by IBF governing body due to troubles with the law.

On Saturday it will be Lemieux’s opportunity to prove his worth to the boxing world! This upcoming match can surely determine if he is the fighter that could shake up the middleweight division or if he is another boxer on a hot streak.

For Lemieux to ensure a victory, he needs to steer clear of Hassan’s lighting fast jabs. Lemieux will need to always move his head. Blocking jabs with his gloves will not help Lemieux’s case. The most important thing that Lemieux needs to do is to cut off the ring. Hassan has a very good foot work and always circles the ring. Lemieux needs to hunt him down like a wolf and attack the body early on so that Hassan gets tired. This tactic could hurt Hassan in the later rounds.

I really hope Lemieux doesn’t get a controversial win in his home town. He really needs to win in style and prove there is a new top dog in the middleweight division. He needs to shine so that he could face the king of middle weight Gennady GGG Golovkin (33-0-30 KOs).

I’ve said it many times, that the only fighter at middleweight that could give trouble to GGG is David. Yes, I know people are talking about Canelo and Cotto facing GGG, but right now they have no interest in fighting him, they prefer facing each other on a PPV event. The promoters and managers of GGG are dying to match him up with a fighter that has a big name and David could be that fighter if he wins on June 20th.
