Mayweather Sr: Pacquiao’s best performance was him getting knocked out by Marquez

Floyd Mayweather SrBy Chris Williams: Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. has analyzed tomorrow night’s clash between boxing’s two biggest stars Floyd Mayweather Jr., from the United States, and Manny Pacquiao from the Philippines, and Floyd Sr. just doesn’t see it was a winnable fight for Pacquiao.

Floyd Sr. believes that Mayweather Jr. has the fight already won, as he’s the superior talent of the two. To Floyd Sr., Pacquiao’s best fight of his 20-year pro career was when he got knocked clean out in the 6th round three years ago against Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012.

At the end of Saturday’s fight, Floyd Sr. sees it as a one-sided beat down for Mayweather against a guy that didn’t belong in the same ring with him. The reason being is that Floyd Sr. doesn’t think the shorter 5’6” Pacquiao has the size, reach, power or boxing skills to compete against Mayweather in this fight.

“To be honest with you, it’s not going to be much of a fight,” Floyd Sr. told Fightnews.com. “This fight has already been won. We can beat Manny any day, any time, any year, and any moment. Manny’s best performance was when he got knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez.”

Well that has got to hurt Pacquiao and his team because they’ve been talking long and hard about how they believe that they’ll be the ones coming out on top in this mega-money fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. But Floyd Sr. believes that he’s the one shedding some reality in the debate about who will be the one that wins this fight. Of course, Floyd Sr. had the longer and more successful pro career compared to Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach, and he obviously knows a lot about what the speaks. If Floyd Sr. believes his man Mayweather Jr. will be the one that will win this fight then you’ve got to take that as someone who knows what he’s talking about. I’m just saying.

I do agree with Floyd Sr. about Pacquiao looking his best during parts of his last clash against Marquez in 2012. Before Pacquiao was knocked cold by Marquez in the 6th, he was looking pretty good in there, as long as you forget about how he was knocked down in the 3rd round by a big looping right hand from Marquez. Pacquiao did some damage in the 5th and was looking good in the 6th round until he got knocked into oblivion by a right hand from Marquez. Pacquiao had Marquez’s nose busted up and bleeding, and it seemed that the fight wouldn’t have gone on too much longer at that point. But Pacquiao got too greedy, and went for the kill and wound up getting knocked out.
