guerrero444By Danny Esch: PBC on NBC lived up to the hype with its first show on network T.V. after 30 years of being shifted mainly to HBO, Showtime, and PPV. The pre-fight shows were also great like “Corner to Corner” and PBC “Lights Out on Spike T.V.

Last night Keith Thurman proved a lot of people wrong, he proved that his performance with Leonard Bundu was just a “ONE TIME” thing and that he is a force to be reckoned with in the welterweight division.

Keith Thurman once again proved that he is still a tremendous power puncher and he still looks for the knock out every round whether he gets it or not he is not afraid to go in to find it. I also saw that Keith is not a one trick pony either he can brawl, box, move, and fight toe to toe against a hard puncher or use the ring to his advantage if he has to or in other words Thurman also knows how to make adjustments.

If you did not see the fight Keith Thurman not only beat Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero convincingly he dropped Guerrero in the 9th round which is what Floyd Mayweather could not do in 12 rd. Keith Thurman immediately jumped on Robert Guerrero from the first bell and the “Three time” world Champion Guerrero was completely over powered and was dominated all night long.

Now there were a few boo’s during the fight and at the weigh-in but the real reason for that was since the fight was in Las Vegas a majority of fans traveled just a few hours from California which is the home base state for Robert Guerrero.

I do give much respect to “The Ghost” for putting on a tough fight in the later rounds of the fight and never ever giving up even though he was knocked down and out boxed all night Robert never gave up and he still is a true fighter and champion.

Keith Thurman did suffer a huge knot on his head but after the replay it was clear that it all started with a clash of heads not a punch as some would want to have you believe. In my opinion I did not like whoever was in the ring doing the post fight interviews of the fighters because he didn’t say anything to promote the success of the winners or PBC in general.

When Adrien Broner won he asked a few questions and as soon as Adrien Broner went into his usual “ANYBODY CAN GET IT” he pulled the microphone away immediately to say “Yeah Yeah Thanks Adrien” like as if to say “What ever Adrien your ignorant and we don’t care what you have to say we don’t like you here.”

As far as the main event which was the main attraction for fight fans and Premier Boxing Champions when Keith Thurman won a clear beating of a “Three Time World Champion” Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero the guy really kept it short and sweet I believe it was one question maybe two.

That post-fight interviewer either didn’t understand the significance of what Keith Thurman had done in the ring OR he was a fan of Robert Guerrero. Keith Thurman just had his first top 10 fight after many fights against no name fighters and lower tier opponents and he was finally tested against a top 10 fighter after all the talk and campaigning for a top name Thurman and his fans finally captured that wish but the interviewer said nothing about it.

The significance of this occasion was that Thurman destroyed a top 10 fighter, former world champion in Guerrero in his prime no doubt who previously fought Floyd Mayweather and also went 12rd in the same ring at the same MGM Grand Hotel right in the same backyard of Floyd Mayweather Jr in Las Vegas Nevada BUT the difference was that Keith Thurman was able to successfully drop Guerrero which no one had been able to do before not even the great T.B.E Floyd Mayweather.

Lastly I enjoyed watching Keith Thurman and Robert Guerrero they put on a great main event fight and PBC should be proud of both guys but they should get rid of the post fight interviewer.
