Broner: I’ll fight Amir Khan at the end of the month!

broner456By Scott Gilfoid: After making easy work of John Molina last Saturday night in clowning him in a 12 round unanimous decision, former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) says he’s ready to take on former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) at the end of this month to give him a boxing lesson like the one he gave Molina.

The way Broner sees it, he didn’t take any damage in his fight against Molina, so why not get in the ring and add Khan’s scalp to his collection.

“No disrespect to Virgil hunter he is a great coach and I got endless love for him but me and Amir Khan can fight at the end of this month I haven’t taken any punishment I’m back in the gym and ready to make a fool out of anybody #AboutBillions #ABonNBC,” Broner said on his Instagram on Tuesday.

Broner would be perfect for Khan, because we’ve already see Khan talking about how he doesn’t have an opponent for his next fight in May or June. With Broner saying he’s ready to fight Khan now, we could see that fight added to one of their mutual adviser Al Haymon’s NBC card next month in April on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC).

I mean, #2 IBF Andre Dirrell will be fighting #1 IBF James DeGale next month in April for the vacant IBF super middleweight title in a fight that will likely take place on NBC on PBCs, so why not add the Broner-Khan fight to that card. Khan has been talking about his contract being up with Showtime, so it’s not as if there’s an issue with him fighting on free television on NBC.

The winner of the Broner-Khan fight would be in a good position to get a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr or Manny Pacquiao. Broner obviously won’t fight his mentor Floyd Mayweather Jr, but he’d definitely jump at the chance of fighting Pacquiao if and when he takes care of Khan first.

Beating Khan would put Broner in a good position to get the Pacquiao fight. Broner wouldn’t even need to take Danny Garcia or Lamont Peterson’s scalp, because Khan’s would be good enough.

I just wonder if Khan would be willing to face Broner. I mean, Broner is so different from the guys that Khan has been facing lately, and I just have a hard time seeing Haymon giving his green light to that fight.

I also see Khan having problems agreeing to it as well, because Broner is a much different fighter than the guys that Khan has been facing lately in Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander, Julio Diaz and Carlos Molina. Broner has punching power, and he’s a defensive wiz.

I can’t see Khan landing his shots against Broner, not with the way he’s fighting now. Broner is focusing more on his defensive side of his career now than he ever had in the past, and I think he’s untouchable right now. Even someone like Marcos Maidana would have problems with the way Broner is fighting now.
