floyd33By Chris Williams: WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr is taking the high road by choosing not to respond to Manny Pacquiao’s latest tweet, urging him to face him in 2015. Instead of Mayweather firing back at the 36-year-old Pacquiao with both barrels, Mayweather took to Instagram today to flaunt his fabulous wealth.

In one photo, Mayweather had a huge rack of shoes open and he asked the reader to pick out the pair he should wear. Mayweather has 80 pairs of beautiful shoes in the rack. In another photos, Mayweather showed a rack of expensive designer sunglasses. He then asked the readers which pair he’ll be wearing.

“I’m having a hard time choosing which #ChristianLouboutin shoes I want to wear. I could only fit 80 pairs of #redbottoms in this photo. Can someone please help me choose which ones I should put on?” Mayweather said on Instagram. “Let’s play a game. Can anyone guess which glasses I’ll be wearing tonight?”

On December 31st, Pacquiao sent Mayweather the following tweet about wanting to fight him in 2015:

“The ball will drop at midnight to usher in 2015. @FloydMayweather let’s not drop the ball on fighting each other next year! #LetsMakeFistory.”

Mayweather and Pacquiao’s management are reportedly in negotiations with one another. However, it looks like Pacquiao’s team are playing it tough with the negotiations.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the fight can get made. If Pacquiao’s management of Bob Arum and Michael Koncz overplay their hand by asking for too much money of a purse split, then the fight likely won’t get made. You can bet that Mayweather has a figure in mind that he feels that Pacquiao is worth in a fight against him, and if Arum and Koncz go above that figure, then there won’t be a fight.

Some of the factors that Mayweather is likely weighing in when figuring what Pacquiao is worth is the Filipino fighter’s deteriorating pay-per-view numbers, as well as his losses to Juan Manuel Marquez and Tim Bradley.

Marquez is the same fighter that Mayweather easily beat in 2009. Pacquiao arguably lost all four fights against Marquez, but was given two controversial decisions and a controversial draw before getting knocked out cold by Marquez in their last meeting in 2012.

Mayweather has a lot of other options available to him if Pacquiao’s management asks for too much money. Mayweather can fight guys like Danny Garcia and make big bank with the purse split. Pacquiao’s situation isn’t quite as good. If he doesn’t face Mayweather in early 2015, then Pacquiao will likely face one of Arum’s Top Rank stable fighters like Jessie Vargas. That’s a fight that would probably take place in Macau, China because it’s not a fight that would sell well on U.S pay-per-view.
