Mayweather enjoying his trip while waiting on Pacquiao negotiations

floyd7By Jaime Ortega: Floyd Mayweather Jr. wrote on his twitter account “ FIGHTNOTMADEYET.” On the statement it also wrote that he is enjoying his trip around the world “while they continue to continue to lie about the fight.”

Continue to lie about the fight? Really! So the meeting with Pacquiao was nothing but a blind mirage for Floyd to look like he wants the fight to give fans the false sense of illusion for something that will never be made because he doesn’t want too.

Boxing fans may rest assure Floyd won’t announce the mega-fight during the Superbowl, in accordance to what he wrote on his twitter today.

I said it before, and will said it again, Floyd doesn’t want this fight. I am assured he will try to find a smart way out to duck Pacquiao.

If Floyd really wanted the fight, the network issues would be resolved in no time. However, it seems to me he is now entering the networks territory playing with CBS and Showtime to make it impossible for HBO to negotiate. But CBS if anything is criticizing him, in line with all the negativity written against Floyd published on many CBSsports online stories.

When Floyd and Pacquiao attended the Heats game in Miami, Floyd saw Pacquiao was on his way to talk to him about the fight, so Floyd rushed to pretend he was the one leading the situation. Floyd took the offensive to show in that moment to his fans he is not scared to face Pacquiao, but the old dog always goes back for his bone.

The myopic picture regarding the whole meeting is that Floyd exchanged phone numbers with Pacquiao that night. Sfter two months of supposed negotiations? Hold on, I thought Al-Haymon and the TMT were all over the fight! I mean after almost two months they should have arranged a meting with Pacquiao. From a business perspective what good is your promotions team, if they can’t schedule a meting between the two fighters, but the meeting is hold unofficially by the owner? So suddenly, the owner does the job of his promotions team, but unofficially? Seems unreal to me.

Maybe the Abu Dhabi team before pulling out from $USD 120 M offer, felt either TMT, Al Haymon or Floyd were rubbish on their intentions to make the fight finally happen.

Then soon after Floyd, meets with Michael Koncz and Pacquiao he lays out the terms? Wow. Its not even certain Floyd, went to Pacquiao’s hotel suite on his own will or Koncz called him to chat.

My point is simple, if you take a look at the situation there has only been one network and one promotions company that has pushed for the fight; that is Top Rank, and HBO. TMT has not done anything on their behalf to make the negotiations prosper according to what I saw in the Miami Heats meeting.

That night fans bought the moment hype because of the big headlines, but I remained skeptic and with Floyd’s latest twitter message, I have to feel sorry for those fans who still believe in his intentions to fight Pacquiao.

Bob Arum and Les Moonves have resolved the most important pillars of the fight, but it is Floyd who in the end of the horizon has to take this fight, or come up with another exit strategy to prevent it from finally happening.

I end up with this statement, “They continue to like about the fight” equals the fight wont happen. Its clear to me he will duck Pacquiao while he plays his fans. Floyd, enjoy your pina coladas!
