Is Mayweather holding up the contract negotiations with Pacquiao?

floyd1By Power VCT: Since Floyd Mayweather Jr with an unblemished professional boxing record of (47-0, 26 KOs) is about to jet off to Australia, particularly Sydney and Melbourne on January 29th.

I’m sure Anthony “The Man” Mundine the Australian whom is also the WBC Silver super welterweight champion with a record of (47-6, 27 KOs) will make himself available to the number one ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world but Mundine shouldn’t get his hopes up since he’s not a top ranked junior middleweight opponent.

One thing we can count of when Floyd makes his appearances in Australia is he will be asked one question over and over and that will pertain to Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs).

As we all have seen in the past Floyd will divert his attention, not to Pacquiao but only to himself. More than likely as Mayweather has said in the past “Manny still has Juan Manual Marquez problems and Timothy Bradley problems” and Floyd is absolutely correct since those losses still have been settled. Marquez clobbered Manny and Bradley is still tied with one win apiece and the boxing world strongly believes Pacman still has unfinished business with these two boxers, BUT this isn’t about them and this is about everyone speculating the contract signatures of “Money” and the “Pacman” respectively!

In the last week we have review so many different sources come out and say “according to my source or this person which have not been verified by any means” it’s Mayweather that hasn’t signed the contract and we haven’t had ONE details of what’s holding up the contract and remember that Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum stated when the talks of the two fighters began that he was going to stick it out in negotiations regardless of what it takes and now he is saying they are giving Mayweather until the end of the month to sign or they probably will end of facing another Top Ranked opponent in Mikey Garcia or Jessie Vargas which the boxing world will see as another cherry picked bout for Manny!

If Mayweather is holding up the contract we all want to know why but to put all the blame on Mayweather is just plain stupid. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has talked about how Pacman will return to knock-out form if he goes down to 140 pounds. What if Mayweather said he was going down to 140lbs to fight Chris Algieri, whom did nothing at welterweight warranting a championship fight for the WBO welterweight belt when he fought Pacquiao last November? Would Mayweather gain praise from fighting an opponent whom didn’t earn his welterweight title shot? Of course not, the boxing world wouldn’t allow that speculation to come to fruition! What if Floyd speculated he was going to also fight Brandon Rios at 140 pounds? Would he be blasted for that decision? Yes, he would and deservingly so!

This habit of only blasting Mayweather for the Pacquiao fight not happening is getting old when NOBODY in the media knows any details on what’s holding up this fight. They don’t even know if a valid contract ever existed as Amir Khan also talked about.

It is totally understandable that Mayweather has made himself as the villain, but playing this role has also made him a great deal of “MONEY” as well. Until boxing fans, the media, casual boxing fans and Mayweather” haters know the details of the possibility of him ever stepping into the ring with Manny, I would not speculate any further since Arum has presented a dead-line by the end of January of 2015 when he stated he was going to hang in there!

We know Floyd, Manny, Roach and especially Arum have said confusing things to the media, and to say Pacman has signed the contract without any details is again another speculation that is unwarranted!
