Mayweather-Pacquiao mega fight isn’t happening

floyd945By Juan dela Cruz: The world had been clamoring for the mega fight between the 8-division world champion and the WBO welterweight title holder Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., but still, the fight isn’t happening.

Even when the dream fight started to tickle the minds of the boxing pundits and fans as well, the whole world already knew the fight won’t come into fruition.

It doesn’t need a rocket scientist to figure it out why the fight won’t happen. Just a common sense will tell you Floyd won’t fight Manny Pacquiao. If you could remember, Floyd stated long ago that all Manny has to do is to step up in the plate and call his name but when Pac did that, Floyd suddenly demanded rbt. Floyd’s reason for the rbt was that his health comes first and that Pac might be on PEDs considering, as according to him, Manny is demolishing everyone as he climbed weight despite the fact that Manny’s KO rate drastically diminished when he scaled weight.

Every time talks of the mega fight come out, Floyd had his excuses in place. First he demanded rbt, then he demanded where Manny should train, after which he low balled Manny by offering him 40M flat with no share in the ppvs. He also stated that he won’t fight Pac if Arum is involved. He also wanted Pac to settle his problems with JuanMa Marquez and Bradley, knowing JMM already priced himself out. As we all know, Floyd never made ridiculous demands to all his previous opponents. And just recently, according to some reports, Floyd wanted 2/3 of the purse if ever the fight will happen.

Not only Floyd’s excuses tell us that he really doesn’t want the fight. Floyd’s actions clearly show that he won’t face Pac whatever happens. During the press conference for the Ortiz bout, Floyd stated that after Ortiz, Manny will be next. He denied having said that the following day. Floyd is also fond of lambasting Manny at the social media, through twitter posts, videos, or Instagram photographs (the only place he fights Pac). He always brags that he’s the TBE (the best ever) but when Manny gave it another meaning (the best excuse), Floyd went eerily silent. Truth hurts it may seem!

During their recent exchange last January, Mayweather called Pacquiao a “desperate dog” for chasing the super fight due to his tax problems. But when the Filipino boxer challenged “Money Mayweather” to a charity fight, Mayweather refused to respond.

It was also reported that a certain group is willing to stage the fight in Abu Dhabi in UAE and that they have funds for the event. Accordingly, they will guarantee Floyd something like 110 million dollars. But still, we never heard any comment from Floyd.

No amount of money can entice Floyd to face the Pacman. A lot of boxing fans feel Floyd is to be blame for the fight not happening. Many of the boxing analysts and pundits, media practitioners, casual and hardcore boxing fans think Floyd is ducking Manny Pacquiao. His excuses are endless and those saying Manny should just simply accept any demand made by Floyd are fools. There is no guarantee that Floyd will sign the dotted line if Manny accept any mandate demanded by Floyd. As what we have noticed, Floyd changes goal every time a goal is met.

Floyd had been telling everyone that Pac would just be an easy fight for him. If that is so, why can’t he answer this question: “Why not an easy fight for the legacy and biggest purse of your career?”

Everyone should just move on. The fight isn’t happening and it’s all because of Floyd Mayweather Jr in my opinion.
