Will Wladimir Klitschko will stay unbeaten until the end?

klitschko123by Yannis Mihanos: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (63-3, 53 KOs) easily dispatched previously unbeaten opponent Kubrat Pulev (20-1, 11 KOs) on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

In todays heavyweight division there is only one man who can make a difference and that is Wladimir Klitschko. His body physique along with his raw natural power has made it  impossible for others to compete at the same level with him.

And while a good excuse for that would be the lack of competition, that cannot take away that he is,  and in my opinion, will be the reigning champion until he decides to retire.

It will be the same story like his older brother Vitali who finished his career as a champion and unbeaten since that unfortunate  night against Lennox Lewis.

The discipline and consistency that these two brothers have demonstrated is remarkable and the results are just the confirmation of this.

Some have said that a few newcomers like the likes of Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury host a geniune threat for Wladimir. I doubt that. Wilder, while still unbeaten, has not yet proven that he can be at the same level with Wladimir. His opponents belong to b-level status and no comparisons can be made.

The same goes for Tyson Fury. With that said my question is this: Is it demoralising to watch anymore fights in the heavyweight division when one man has it all?

In my opinion yes it is. That’s why nobody is interested to organise a big event in Las Vegas Nevada. It doesn’t sell, it won’t sell.

To leave this article with a positive note I would say that good times for the heavyweight division like in the past will come again  once better competition steps up. Will that happen anytime soon?

Maybe after Dr Steelhammer retires…
