Will Mayweather ever agree to fight Pacquiao?

1-pac-algieri.fn_.02.500w-420x251By TFF: After watching Pacquiao display a dominant performance against Algieri, the possibility of Pac-Mayweather is definitely now more interesting for us boxing fans, but to Floyd Mayweather Jr.. who knows?

Some will say that Floyd is already counting the money he’s going to make off a Pacquiao fight and others will say he’s running for the hills right about now…here’s what I think: Algieri is no Mayweather Jr but the shut out win victory Pacquiao put on Algieri is at the very least a clear sign why Pacquiao belongs in the same ring with Mayweather Jr. Algieri is no push over and although very few gave him a chance to pull off a victory over Manny Pacquiao, no one would have bet money on how the lopsided fight was.

Yes, Pacquiao belongs in the same ring with Mayweather and in fact I honestly don’t see Mayweather beating Pacquiao. After seeing Mayweather get tagged as many times as he did against Maidana in their first fight and seeing the rematch, I’m convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Pacquiao would out class Floyd. Floyd is slower than Pacquiao, Manny can out punch Floyd and Floyd doesn’t have the legs to out run Pacquiao like he was able to with Maidana in their rematch. Manny Pacquiao will tag Floyd Mayweather Jr a lot more times than Maidana did due to speed and accuracy and on the return, Floyd Mayweather Jr will tag Manny Pacquiao a lot less than he did Maidana due to speed and footwork, pretty clear-cut right? Maidana is a slow plodding methodical volume power puncher that comes straight at you, corners you and unloads, Manny Pacquiao comes straight at you but at the last moment attacks from different angles mixing up random punches and in volume, then steps back and re attacks, it wouldn’t be a Clottey vs Pacquiao cloned fight but I suspect that in the end you would have seen that Floyd covered a lot more than usual and was unable to counter Pacquiao enough times to make it count. Marquez is a different type of counter puncher, he counters as you are attacking and was able to catch Pacquiao , Floyd Mayweather Jr would never ever meet you head on… that’s not his style and he would never risk it enough to hurt Pacquiao, and that’s the only way to beat Pacquiao. You have to go for broke, all in or you’ll fold, it’s as simple as that.

Floyd Mayweather needs to meditate long and hard at what’s he going to do next, Showtime is really pressuring him on making the fight happen: Bob Arum wants a Billion Dollar Fight extravaganza which can only be possible through the US and International PPV buys which include a strong commitment from China’s untapped PPV potential of which an estimated $300 million alone would be the purse split to the fighters… now that’s a big huge if, but what if it actually happens? Mayweather would net close to (I’m just guessing here) $175,000,000.00 out of the 250 to 300 million since we all know he would get the larger half since Manny has already agreed to take less.

Obviously a lot of what I’ve written here is my opinion which I based off what I’ve seen in past fights, and speculation based on past and current news and interviews that are still pop up on a daily basis, it’s the fight every one wants to see, it’s no longer an opinion, it’s a worldwide fact. If you don’t want to see Pac-Mayweather, what then? Devon Alexander? he would be out pointed by Floyd. Amir Khan? Khan will fade after round 5 or 6 and we all know this beforehand.

To sum it up: A Pacquiao / Mayweather PPV fight is the only true unknown fight outcome which merits buying, Team Pacquiao has been fully onboard for a long time, The Money Team needs to step up to the challenge, we are tired of would have, could have, should have but didn’t, we are 1 month away from 2015 and there is more money involved now for making this fight than there ever has been so there is no point in arguing about whose fault it was in the past for the fight not happening because it’s worth more than twice as much now as it did then, Get it! Got it! Good…
