Leading boxing television rights distributor/sports marketing firm Octapixx LIVE is pleased to announce that it has been selected to exclusively market and distribute the worldwide broadcast rights to the February 21, 2015 return of knockout king Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KO) to Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Golovkin will put his WBA, IBO and interim WBC Middleweight Championship belts on the line against Martin Murray (29-1, 12 KO), Golovkin’s most difficult challenge to date.

The event will take place at Salle des Etoiles in glamorous Monte-Carlo, Monaco, and is promoted by Golden Gloves Promotions in association with K2 Promotions and Monte-Carlo SBM.

Golovkin, the fastest-rising star in boxing, has stopped his last 18 opponents by knockout and has mesmerized sports fans around the world with his crowd-pleasing combination of power, technique and aggression. In his quick rise to fame, Golovkin has dispatched his opponents in dramatic fashion and has yet to be tested in the ring.

Murray is regarded by boxing pundits as a true middleweight challenge to Golovkin due to his size, strength, technical proficiency and tight defense. Murray’s only career blemishes are highly controversial decisions; a loss to Sergio Martinez in Martinez’s native Argentina and a draw with Felix Sturm in Sturm’s native Germany.

Already, discussions are ongoing with sports broadcasters all over the world, and early indicators suggest that the February 21 telecast will be among the most widely-watched boxing events worldwide in the first half of 2015.

“The return of boxing’s fastest-rising star to Monte-Carlo is a premium event in and of itself, but we’re ecstatic that the telecast will feature a leading contender in Martin Murray who will truly challenge Gennady Golovkin,” says Octapixx LIVE’s Vice President Lowell Conn. “Octapixx LIVE is pleased that this event is not only generating interest among sports broadcasters who typically license world championship boxing, but also from sports broadcasters that are new to boxing and see Golovkin-Murray as a great launching pad into the sport in 2015.”
