garcia100By D.A: Well boxing fans our dreams of the cold war being fully over is about to become true. Of course we all know Golden boy promotions and HBO/ Top Rank have made peace and will work together in the future and guaranteed to in 2015.

All What’s left is Al Haymon to be thrown into the equation since there hasn’t been any reports of the mystery Manager and his team making peace with HBO.

Al Haymon of course is the rarely seen powerful adviser of many boxers today who are under the Golden Boy promotions banner. Why Al Haymon must be thrown into the equation of making peace with HBO is because Haymon manages guys who are promoted by Golden boy but not actually signed to the company.

A lot of fighters are free agents who are signed to Al Haymon and are promoted by Golden boy. The great news is De la Hoya went to the Top Rank headquarters this week and spoke with Arum and Deuboff. Many fighters were discussed such as Mikey Garcia, Abner Mares, Ruslan Provodnikov, and of course Canelo Alvarez.

De la Hoya stated they discussed potential fights they could make and one of the main potential fights discussed was Danny Garcia vs Manny Pacquiao. Here’s what De la Hoya said via the LA Times: “I love the Danny Garcia fight-Pacquiao fight for instance. We have talked to Al about it and he likes it, he’s open to it. We’re going towards the right direction [of making fights with Top Rank],” Although there is a lot of tension between Arum and Haymon, De la Hoya stated that wouldn’t be an issue with making the fight, because the two promoters will handle the actual negotiations.

“There is a manager at Top Rank that I’m not too fond of that works closely with Top Rank. I’m not going to work with him, I’m going to work with Bob.” So there you have it as I predicted Al Haymon is open to letting his fighters fight on HBO if that’s the network that’ll take place on. If Al indeed makes peace with HBO, you can say the Cold war is officially over.
