khan1111By Poerqe: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22 KOs) and Amir Khan (29-3,19 KOs) seem to be close on finalizing a fight between the two for may next year. Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn has been negotiating with Khan’s management over a May fight, in probably Wembley stadium. Hearn, writing in his Dailymail.co.uk column, said: “Talks are ongoing over a fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan. It is going well because I think everyone realizes it makes sense.”

“Everything so far has been very straightforward and I am in talks with Wembley over a May date. They want us back there as soon as possible after the success of Froch-Groves – I have no doubt in my mind that we would fill that stadium again. I hope to have this tied up in the next month or so.”

I agree with Eddy Hearn. This will be a huge fight in the UK. Potentially a make or break fight for both. And the winner could end up facing Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26 KOs). I think Khan has a good chance of beating Brook. Brook is a good fighter, but I think Khan´s speed and his new found ability of smothering the opponent could land him a points win over Brook. After the Brook fight, it would be interesting to see Khan’s next move. He could go on to fight Mayweather. That fight does interest me. Khan has the canny ability to win rounds. His defense has gotten a lot better under Virgil Hunter. He is much disciplined and doesn’t throw wild combinations. I am curious to see how Mayweather deals with that. It would be good to see how Mayweather adjusts and adapts to Khan’s speed and his overall boxing ability. I think Mayweather wins the fight, but I don’t think it will be an easy fight.

But another option for Khan could be facing Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs). Considering Khan’s history with Pacquiao and Freddie Roach. This is a very marketable fight. Khan has expressed his desire to fight Pacquiao. And while Khan and Pacquiao trained together they used to spar against each other on regular basis. There have been suggestions of people who viewed the sparring sessions that khan has had the better of Pacquiao.

Well sparring is just that sparring. It’s not the same as stepping in the ring with an opponent looking to hurt you. But this is a very interesting fight for me. If I had to choose between the two I would go for Pacquiao. But like I said, Khan does have the canny ability to win rounds. And he is fast. His defense is better. Will it be enough to win against Mayweather or Pacquiao I highly doubt it. But what I do know is that any of those fights will be higly entertaining!
