Mayweather: Thurman is too green

thurman32222By Don Ech: This past week I have written two articles on Keith “The Beast” Thurman aka Keith “Thunder” Thurman aka Keith “One Time” Thurman which have generated over 50+ comments each.

I have chosen purposely to focus on Keith Thurman because it is totally obvious that something very strange is going on in the world of boxing concerning this young man.

In my view it seems we (fans) are being sold day in and day out on the idea that Keith Thurman is a nobody, not worthy, hasn’t really fought anyone and Thurman is all hype. The question I pose to you the reader is “are we the fans being fooled or is it true” that Keith “One Time” Thurman is just another hype job with no skills, no talent, and no power plus no marketability or is Keith Thurman deliberately being stalled and pushed backwards for the sake of business?

I have chosen to step outside the box and to deliberately avoid writing articles solely praising Mayweather, Pacquiao, Garcia, Golovkin, and Broner because in my opinion they are an entertainment “smoke screen” to drive our attention away from what’s really going on.

I believe Keith Thurman’s career is being precisely orchestrated and carefully misdirected for the purpose of keeping Floyd Mayweather’s risk to reward level as low as possible, as Mayweather approaches his last two fights after Marcos Maidana 2 under the direction of Al Haymon so Floyd Mayweather will exit the sport of boxing UNDEFEATED 49-0.

In a recent round table interview with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Leonard Ellerbe for his Sep 13 rematch with Marcos Maidana Floyd was asked.

Reporter: “Floyd who is on your “short list” of fighters coming up is Keith Thurman there”?

Mayweather: “(hesitating) umm umm I don’t you know um we don’t I don’t umm I have seen him I have seen him (Thurman) fight a little bit he’s still “GREEN “but yeah he (Thurman) goes out there and “tries” but it’s different at this level this is the “elite” league.

In my opinion, Floyd used an excellent move which was to down play the accomplishments of an exceptional fighter. I will use Floyd’s theory of “green” about three fighters he chose to fight and you guys tell me if these three names where ready for Floyd or where they also “GREEN”.

In Floyd’s last five fights my “GREEN” guys are Victor Ortiz, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez and even Marcos Maidana before we knew how he would perform against Mayweather. In an effort to be fair look at each of these guys last five fights yourselves before they stepped in with Mayweather and be honest with yourselves what “major” names jump at you that gave these 4 fighters the right, the authority, the worthiness or in Thurman’s case who did these guys “fight” to deserve a shot? Were these fighters all “elite” level fighters when they fought Floyd? What level are Ortiz and Guerrero at now?

Canelo appears to be doing well but let’s be honest his wins against Lara & Trout were questionable. Looking back now Mayweather justified fighting Robert Guerrero by saying in almost every interview “Robert Guerrero is my “MANDATORY” so I guess he’s done something right to be here” so if that’s the case Keith “One Time” Thurman is now Mayweather’s “MANDATORY” fighter and I assume he also must have done something right to have that position.

Is it just coincidence that every “household name” that Keith Thurman has asked for have all turned him down? Is it a coincidence that all of those same fighters including Thurman are influenced and managed by the same manager Al Haymon who is best friends and also manages Mayweather Jr? I am not accusing anyone instead I am asking a simple question because I want to know what is going on with a fighter many claim is just a “hype job” and yet his own company is NOT hyping him?

In an interview conducted by “HustleBoss.com” Uncle and Trainer Roger Mayweather was asked about Keith Thurman.

Hustle Boss: “Can an aggressive crude guy with power beat Floyd”?

Roger Mayweather: “No No NO that aint gonna beat Floyd what a guy has to have is “boxing ability” he has to have a “strategy “that he can adapt to what Floyd do.

HustleBoss: “What about a young guy like a Keith Thurman young athletic and he can punch and he’s confident what about somebody like him”?

Roger Mayweather: “Well I mean that would probably be a GOOD fight whether or not he (Thurman) can beat Floyd I don’t know.”
